THE MANDALORIAN---Walt Disney co-chairman Alan Horn said there is a possibility that Lucasfilm might develop a theatrical movie based on the Disney+ tv series, “THE MANDALORIAN is already proving to be a big thing, so if that series proves to be so compelling that we reverse engineer it into a theatrical release, a two-hour film or whatever, O.K.,”
Also, Pedro Pascal revealed The Mandalorian's real name, "The Mandalorian, whose real name is Dyn Jarren, is your iconically cool, flawed, mysterious, loner gunslinger that harkens to the best of the samurai movies and the Westerns and in talking to Jon [Favreau] I asked him what should I be looking at. I know he loves movies. I love movies. What should I be watching? And he immediately brought up Sergio Leone and Akira Kurosawa, YOJIMBO, and THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY. So, he’s very samurai, Clint and me."
TARANTINO---Quentin Tarantino appears to have changed his mind about retiring, "So I finished ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD, finished that script, put it aside, and then I wrote a play. And then I wrote a five-episode TV series. And right now I’m writing a book and I’m hoping that I’ll be finished in three months.
So the idea will be hopefully by March maybe I’ll be finished with the book and then, theoretically, maybe I’ll do the play, and then theoretically I’ll do the TV show, and then by that point I’ll be thinking maybe what I’ll do for the 10th movie… There will be a 10th one, yes. I have no idea what it’s going to be. It’s going to be a little bit down the line.”
SLUGFEST---the Russo brothers are developing a Quibi documentary based on the book SLUGFEST: INSIDE THE EPIC, 50-YEAR BATTLE BETWEEN MARVEL AND DC which tells the story about the rivalry between comic book giants Marvel and DC.
DISNEY+---the Walt Disney streaming service has added an "outdated cultural depictions" warning to its older movies including DUMBO, THE JUNGLE BOOK, LADY AND THE TRAMP and THE ARISTOCATS.
Disney+ already has over 10 million subscribers after its first day of streaming.
UNCHARTED---Mark Wahlberg is in talks to play Victor "Sully" Sullivan in the Tom Holland movie based on the video game.
AQUAMAN 2---Patrick Wilson confirmed he is returning as Orm for the sequel.
BEVERLY HILLS COP 4---Netflix acquired the sequel rights and a possible fifth movie from Paramount Pictures.
MASTER---Regina Hall will star in this Amazon Studios horror movie as Master, the black lesbian head of students at a predominantly white college near Boston that is haunted.
PRINCE OF CATS---Spike Lee will direct this movie based on the graphic novel.
JUDY & LIZA & ROBERT & FREDDIE & DAVID & SUE & ME---MAD MEN-type tv series based on the memoir of Judy Garland's manager, Stevie Phillips.
