Having lived in Edinburgh for a year, Thatcher was then The P.M. I'm curious. Do any members here from Wales, England, Scotland, Ireland or Northern Ireland think this will happen? Could it happen any time soon? 'Things' seem to very gradually be pointing in that direction.

Dave, you need to change Britain to England in your post!
Well, Scotland already is a separate nation.
They probably will leave the UK one day. Couldn't say when.
Done; thanks! I mean though, 'separate' in ways such as it's border with England, and switching over to The Euro, instead of The Pound Sterling.

No idea how they would do with that. Probably requires a hard border, too? Which i think would also be a problem with Northern Ireland if Brexit went ahead, It's probably all a bit too political for this board, to be honest.

Okay, TG. Speaking of money, a couple of years ago, we were on a cruise that landed on Guernsey Island. Gorgeous place. We were then going to dock at Southampton. We were going straight to the airport to fly home as we had been in London before this trip. However, those staying in London immediately went to banks on Guernsey to get pounds. A couple of hours later, they had to return to those same banks because they found out that "Guernsey Pounds" were only good in Guernsey. They could not be used in England. These people thought that if Euros were good in France, Germany, Spain, etc., pounds would be the same.
