Dveselu putenis / Blizzard of Souls is a powerful film directed by Dzintars Dreibergs and produced by Inga Pranevska. It is the story of a sixteen-year-old Arturs, who enlists to fight in First World War with dreams of becoming a hero, but after surviving the brutalities of trench warfare and the loss of his family, he wonders if his efforts in battle were futile and if hope is only to be found in rebuilding a family and a home - as Latvia itself is born from the atrocities of war. Acclaimed composer Lolita Ritmanis (YOUNG JUSTICE, BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES, MYSTERY OF THE BATWOMAN, BROKE SKY) recorded the score in Riga, Latvia - the birthplace of her parents. The composer assembled a 60 piece orchestra and 50 voice choir, and recorded the score at Latvia Radio 1.Studio, in the heart of old town Riga. The score is 1hour and 9 minutes in length. The album is produced by Mark Mattson and Lolita Ritmanis and the composer conducted musicians from several Symphony orchestras in Latvia.

Legendary composer Michael Kamen (LETHAL WEAPON 1-4, DIE HARD 1-3, THE LAST BOY SCOUT) closes out the 1980s with yet another dynamite action score, capping a thrilling decade’s worth of classic action music -- and suggesting still further exciting scores to come in the 1990s. Kamen’s work was a perfect fit for the action films he scored – expertly supporting large-scale thrills and chills, but always finding the true drama in the film’s narrative and the beating heart in its heroes – and ROAD HOUSE is no exception. This expanded and remastered re-issue, produced by Neil S. Bulk in collaboration with the Michael Kamen Estate and mastered by Doug Schwartz, (from high resolution transfers of the recently located, complete set of original 3-Track stereo mixes), arrives in time for the film’s 30th Anniversary and is limited to 2000 units. The exclusive and in-depth liner notes are by writer Jeff Bond, and the fist-flying art design is by Dan Goldwasser.

Arguably unparalleled in its genre, BRIDE has and continues to enthrall generations with its cinematic power, a vital part of which is the film's astounding original music score by legendary composer Franz Waxman (REBECCA, SUNSET BLVD., SUSPICION, A PLACE IN THE SUN). This release, its premiere debut in any format, and a rarity for the score of its age, celebrates the Waxman legacy and recognizes the impact his BRIDE score has had in shaping the overall grammar of film scoring.
Sourced mainly from original acetates housed at the composer’s archives at Syracuse University and additional elements discovered by album producer Mike Matessino, this album presentation, meticulously restored and remastered by Matessino, brings an 84 year old classic score back to vivid life. While the entire score was not recovered, this 43 minute program is a fine representation of this classic work, and it retains the majority of the score’s most notable moments.
