The government might be sending me to Rome quite soon on a secret mission, so I shouldn't say too much. But I can reveal that I shall be traveling with a mere attaché case with secret documents in it. While I am over in Rome, I may have time to check out some soundtrack CDs (no room for LPs in document folder).

Of course, I shall only check out the decent soundtrack sections if there are any. Are there?

DANGER MAN episode: "You're not in any trouble, are you?"

Secrent Agent John Drake (Graham Watt) with his portable device arrives in Rome to liaison with his contact Andreas Malandrinos, who has for him a suitcase large enough to contain LPs purchased in Roman records stores.

Nice picture Zardoz, but no cigar (actually I think there is one).

I haven't been notified yet, but it could be at any moment. It's a secret, but government spies don't check film music sites so we're okay.

When I go on my mission, will I be able to find any soundtrack stores in Rome? No LPs allowed, only CDs - and absolutely NO microfiche thanks.

Never been to Italy, so I can't advise, Graham.
I do recall reading amongst these FSM threads somewhere that somebody purchased soundtrack CDs in Rome whilst visiting.
Was it Montana Dave or Kim Peterson?

Thanks for nothing, geeks. I had to keep my visit Top Secret for obvious reasons, but I would have liked at least a little bit more help on the soundtracks front. So, I'm back home now, empty handed CD-wise - but I did get the microfilm.

Playing undercover as a "typical tourist" (selfie sticks everywhere), I was struck by how much of Rome is just really ancient stuff all falling to bits. Why doesn't the government do something about that? They could make more car parks. The traffic is bloody hellish.

Graham, I used to axe for tips or recommendations around here when I was sent on Assignment Venice or Vienna by Dave Grusin, but then, these most recent of times, what I do is type or say to Google, "CD shops near me, or in ..." and the Governer of all things Internet turns me into a little blue triangle and pops me on my way to here, there, everywhere and sundry.
I feel like an Alien in ALIENS as I beep towards my destination and Bill Paxton has a meltdown as I edge ever closer to him.

Thanks Kev. I must keep that in mind for my next trip to... ah, but that would be telling.

And to think I actually had that "Goodnight Vienna" vocal Yellow Pages device in my cigar lighter, and forgot what it was for! But I did get to meet Ennio Morricone himself. Did I tell you about that? I'm sure I did, but it's not here. Never mind - memories are much more important than images stuck onto the end of a selfie stick.
