I am beyond thrilled to have in my hands both an LP and CD of the De Angelis brothers L'ULTIMO SQUALO!\ soundtrack! You may know this film from its import titles - THE LAST SHARK or GREAT WHITE. Regardless, this is one soundtrack release I have been waiting for for many years!
I will order this edition as soon as possible. I cherish the De Angelis brothers for their amazing sense of melody and atmosphere. In my opinion they are the second most creative Italian film music composers after Maestro Morricone.
Only last night i was thinking about buying this CD....I love the De Angelis brothers, especially Killerfish and the Black Corsair, and was wondering what the CD was like. I saw the film recently - it was really really bad... I mean I thought Bruce was rubbery, but the shark in this one was awful, particularly the way its head bobs (very un-shark like) out of the water. The score was comfortably the best thing about the film and I am pleased to see it released.

I agree about DAB tastes, you know your music pal, there's many works of their music i love - their techniques were very different & could be quite obscure sounding yet still colourful & powerful, i don't know this title but i'm buying it anyway their a skilful duo.
I, too, love the music of the De Angelis brothers. It is impossible to rank the many significant Italian film composers. Of course Morricone is THE maestro but let us not forget Rota, Cipriani, and Ortolani. I recently revisited UMBERTO D and marveled at the score by Alessandro Cicognini. Yes, I love both UMBERTO D and L'ULTIMO SQUALO!
