Elton John doesn't like the music in the remake movie, "The new version of The Lion King was a huge disappointment to me, because I believe they messed the music up. Music was so much a part of the original and the music in the current film didn’t have the same impact. The magic and joy were lost. The soundtrack hasn’t had nearly the same impact in the charts that it had 25 years ago, when it was the bestselling album of the year. The new soundtrack fell out of the charts so quickly, despite the massive box-office success. I wish I’d been invited to the party more, but the creative vision for the film and its music was different this time around and I wasn’t really welcomed or treated with the same level of respect. That makes me extremely sad. I’m so happy that the right spirit for the music lives on with the Lion King stage musical."

Wow, that was actually a fairly measured and diplomatic response from La Elton.
Good on him.

Well there's no "heart" left in Hollywood anymore. The songs are certainly a step down. Lets put half the effort into it. Why did they even attempt "Be Prepared"? Beyoncé rendition of "Can You Feel The Love tonight", is awful. Modern singers are awful. They can't sing. They shout, yodel or are auto-tuned to death.

I love the original so much that I'm worried I'll never see the remake.
Maybe I'm better off?

Sir Elton is absolutely right.

Then again, I think all these live action remakes are nonsense.

So was Zimmers score for the remake not as good as the original?

Everyone should care deeply about celebrity opinions, especially when they wear duck costumes.

Well, given the involvement of Beyoncé Knowles and her enormous ego, you couldn't seriously expect his needs to be taken in consideration....

It doesn't even matter, Elton.
The Zimmerpets will lap it up.

I like the score. I'd say its as good. Its more fleshed out and casts a wider thematic canvas.
