On May 29th 2020, James Horner´s virtually unknown concert works Spectral Shimmers and A Forest Passage will finally see the light of day, again!

Let's cross our fingers and hope it gets recorded somehow.

We are ambitious and hopeful but for now that is purely wishful thinking.

Calling Intrada! What a swan song for their Horner releases this would be!!

My ticket is bought. Thank you so much for passing the information about the concert.

And I will finally get to visit Poland which I wanted to do for so many years.

Why is it that so many great concerts are held in Poland? I visited Krakow last weekend where Zbigniew Preisner held his jubileum concert. It was probably the best concert I have ever been to. And Krakow is also worth visiting!

Oh wow! Seeing this title reminds me of reading his bio in 1992 (and also of the playlist of Horner's best I have with me at all times). Would love to finally hear this.

Pretty sure it is the cost of contracting orchestras and recording support is much cheaper in Poland. But a lot of composers still say that by far the best performing orchestras in the world for a film score are in Los Angeles, they just cost a lot more.

Well, the concert got cancelled (obviously) and rescheduled for the 'same time next year' smile
But the good news to come out of this, is the Horner pieces will be recorded and released on CD, along with other music by him.
Do I have that right?

As far as I know, there will be no recording of this concert. Alas.

I heard, from a mate, that it's being recorded for release on CD, together with other Horner stuff.
I think he got the info from a James Horner fan site.
Maybe Avatarded knows more?

I know one of the concert producers, and it is he who said there was no recording planned. But maybe things have changed since I talked to him a few months ago, and there is indeed a recording in the works.

There’s an album of something in the works....

“Our association James Horner Film Music aims to bring James Horner's music to life by all possible means and to fillthe void caused by his passing by publishing new information, writing a book, producing a concert and an album, filming a mini-documentary… Despite the current situation, these projects are still very much alive and we thank you for your support.”

Received ticket refund a couple days ago...
I thought it is just rescheduled and the tickets remain valid... so what's going on?

What's the latest on this?
Looks like Covid took down any proposed concert and recording last year, in Poland.
Any news on a re-scheduled concert or recording?
Is this piece fated to remain unheard by Horner fans?
