Viewing this re-boot/sequel to the original Tales of the City from many years back. This is on Showtime. In episode 4 of the series, one of the most dramatic and powerful scenes in the series is played out, layed completely bare, at a dinner party. It's present day San Francisco, Actor Murray Bartlett brings his very young partner, Ben, to a dinner party of Gays who grew up with Bartlett. Ben is the youngest man at the table, and the only black man. The conversation takes an impromtu and dramatic turn, showcasing the different eras of men at the table. (Non gay men who play this scene won't get the meanings of both sides played out here, or if you do, it won't be as powerful as if you were a gay man who experienced all the loss of decades past).

Gay Actor Stephen Spinella gives the speech. It's strong stuff, delivered expertly.
