THE RHYTHM SECTION---trailer released for the revenge movie starring Blake Lively and Jude Law.

DUNE---Stellan Skarsgard, who plays villain Baron Harkonnen, commented on the Denis Villeneuve remake, “I’ve always wanted to work with him partly because he’s such a wonderful man, but also because he’s a brilliant director. It’s fun when you get one of those big sci-fi movies and you know it’s going to be directed by a true filmmaker. It’s not going to be directed by the studio. It seemed like they were giving him pretty free hands. And you have to, because his personal stamp on the film is paramount for the success of it… What he’s really good at is creating this strange atmosphere with his imagery and this cinematic poetry that is his trademark and that will add so much richness to the pretty simple story.”

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS---a source said Lady Gaga was, "offered a role" in the Warner Bros./Greg Berlanti remake of the 1960 Roger Corman horror movie. Speculation is that the role is Audrey. The 1986 remake starred Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene and Steve Martin.

STAR WARS---a rumor claims Lucasfilm is developing another tv series that is a spinoff of SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY, “some kind of underworld series dealing with the Crimson Dawn and other scoundrels sounds the most likely”.

SHRINE---Jeffrey Dean Morgan stars in this horror movie about a disgraced journalist who uses divine miracles in a New England town to resurrect his career and discovers the true source of the miracles.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY---Jessica Lange said she is not returning to the tv series, "We were like a troupe. We were like the old-fashioned kind of troupe of actors, just moving from one part to the other. And that was part of what I really loved about doing it was you’d come back with a whole different story, different characters, but the same actors year after year. And that was wonderful. But I don’t think that would be the case now and I don’t think I would want to start over from scratch really. I don’t think that will happen.”

KNIGHTS---new Walt Disney Pictures family adventure movie about a young woman and a knight who embark on a journey to destroy an artifact that threatens mankind.

DREAM DOLL---biomovie underway about Ruth Handler, inventor of the Barbie Doll and Mattel Toys founder. Rita Wilson, wife of Tom Hanks, is the producer.

WALKER---biomovie about Dr. Mary Edwards Walker, the Civil War doctor who is the only woman to be awarded the Medal of Honor.

TRIVIA---6' 9" character actor Ted Cassidy is best known for playing Lurch and Thing on THE ADDAMS FAMILY. Cassidy also played three roles in the original STAR TREK. In "What Are Little Girls Made Of?", Cassidy played the monstrous Ruk. In "Arena", Cassidy was the voice of the Gorn captain. In "The Corbomite Maneuver", he was the voice of Balok's puppet.

One can say a lot of things about Dune.
A pretty simple story would not be one of them.
Sounds like SS never really read the book(s).

yeah, and this sounds an awful lot like how people describe David Lynch too, and we know how that turned out

"What he’s really good at is creating this strange atmosphere with his imagery and this cinematic poetry that is his trademark...."

I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing because I love Lynch's version.
But for all its faults, there's nothing else that looks like it.

(Once again I urge all interested parties to seek out the "Spicediver" fan edit of the movie.
It's an excellent watch.)

Certainly everything Star Wars post-The Last Jedi is bound to disappoint.
