Scream Factory has detailed its upcoming Collector's Edition of Chuck Russell's film The Blob (1988), starring Kevin Dillon, Shawnee Smith, Donovan Leitch Jr., Jeffrey DeMunn, and Candy Clark. The release will be available for purchase on October 29.

The Blob is a really great fun horror. This looks a tremendous disc.

Weren't the effects sequences cut extensively to get an R rating? I seem to remember the editing being noticeably choppy during blob attack scenes. There may even be a jump cut on the soundtrack that was audible from a last second edit. It's been a while since I've seen it, I'm not certain.
