For those of you who wanted the site back and those of you who've never seen it, it's coming back online slowly.

There are some bugs to work out, some fixes here and there that will need to be made (if you see a problem, let me know), and not all the pages are online because the host provider bans certain word but won't provide a list of what those words are. For example, "Amazon.com" is banned, but I link to where you can buy CD's, like that site, so it's going to be a frustrating pointless exercise in stupidity.

As of right now, the main page everybody wants to look at, the main list page, is not up right now. A number of pages have not been updated in a long while (rest assured though, that even when the site was not online, the main list page and Supposedly, were still updated).

Anyway, have a go!

Hi Justin, Absolutely brilliant your rejected score site is one of my favourite items on the internet and it has been missed.
Hope you are doing well. Kindest regards Lyn

Okay, so I tried replacing all the Amazon.com links with Tinyurl's, since "amazon.com" is a banned word on 125mb.com free sites, but that didn't work.

So, with 57,330 words (413, 893 characters) and 1,970 lines of code, and no list of the words that are banned so I know what to replace, and words that probably are banned but are from quotes (which I am not going to change for a fucking website host), it looks like 125mb.com is a temporary and awful host. I'll still have to go host hunting to find one to display the entire site.

That means the main lists page (rejected/un-used/demos), the one everybody wants to see, can't be displayed.

Justin,

Have you thought about copying and pasting the content of your Rejected Score pages onto a blogspot? It's a very easy alternative and it will take just minutes to set it up. There are templates that I believe will work just fine for your material. Heck, even the URL http://rejectedscores.blogspot.com/ is available!

I'll echo Dylan. It will also make it look more contemporary, and not like something from 1996.

I reject most film scores after 1996. So the esthetics are appropriate. big grin

re "Forbidden Planet"

"The film's trailer contains edited pieces from a few cues (by David Rose)"

The trailer has tracked cues from Previn's scores for "Bad Day at Black Rock" and "Scene of the Crime".

The main list page is back online, but so far only DEMOS and UN-USED are up (REJECTED -- the list everybody wants to see -- I am still working on; more will pop up throughout the day; PLEASE NOTE: While trying to figure out what words are banned, the page will go offline and online during that process -- just keep trying back!):
http://rejectedfilmscores.125mb.com/list.html

The "jump" coding isn't working; I don't know why (maybe the coding has changed in recent years).

So, since the host provider won't provide a list of bans words and terms, I am going to put one online for anybody who searches for it:

Banned 125mb.com words and phrases thus far, that will cause you page to not display on purpose:

  • iTunes (in an apple link; the word itself isn't banned separately)
  • apple.com
  • amazon.com
  • aol.com
  • tripod.com
  • porn

    OKAY!!!

After over an hour of bullshit of finding out what was banned, I am happy to say the FULL page is now up!!! The page all site readers wanted, is back.

I had to change amazon.com links to TinyURL's, and the banned of "aol.com" turned out to be a good thing in my particular instance: It made me check the links and find out they were bad (old composer websites that no longer exist); replaced where possible (thankfully the links were only in the "Scary Movie 2" replacement composer listing, so I didn't have to go through the whole page!).

Now I just had to update the page some, and other pages throughout the month.

I love this site. So glad it has been resurrected. Thanks, Justin. I could spend hours reading various parts.

    You're welcome.

I'm getting ready in a few minutes to add a new title to DEMOS. Just got the last bit of info' I needed from the composer. And First Breath, this one is for you...

Okay, so apparently a new word must have been banned 'cause the main lists page is now blocked again. Be patient while I figure this Goddamn bullshit out.

    Unknown issue is resolved.

I have sent out several e-maisl to solve titles on the Suppoosedly page, including some for the titles governor asked about updates on.

I get some Error 403 comments when I click on parts, but I can see the lengthy rejected list. Just wondering if you will be adding any scores rejected in 2019 and in the future? (Well, maybe nothing was rejected this year.) Still, it is a very interesting and educational site for people who want to know about composers and their composer replacements.

Can you tell me what you are clicking on that is giving an error? Aside from the info.html page -- I just found out that is not displaying (must be banned words on there, sadly; time to waste more of my life on this fucking shit that 125mb is imposing). (Fixed the link to Supposedly on the button on the main lists page).

2019 has been a slow year for confirmed rejected scores so far. There are six titles on Supposedly for that year though.

I ad when I find things or learn about them from e-mails with composers, producers, directors, etc. The majority of the time a year is filled out years after it has passed. I wouldn't' be surprised if five years from now there are a dozen titles in the REJECTED 2019 section.

Now, there is a mystery title (at the end of REJECTED there is a mystery section) for Clint Mansell, if anybody wants to investigate...

I'll go back in your site this afternoon to answer your question. I just clicked on various parts for more exploration. I hope I didn't come across as knocking your site. I think it is grand, and I'm amazed by all the work and research you have done to find out about rejected scores. Your main list is thorough and what I'm most interested in reading. It is quite an education for film score lovers.

No offense taken; obviously some links have gone bad, or I have made coding errors, and/or banned words are not permitting some pages to display. It's good people let me know rather than say nothing.

    EDIT:
The info.html page will display and not display as I try to find out what words are blocking it (which I am, of course, adding to the list in an above post...).
