I'm quite looking forward to this movie.

Based on the first book in the Stephanie Patrick series of novels by Mark Burnell and produced by Eon Productions, who make the James Bond movies.

Starring Blake Lively, Jude Law and Sterling Brown;

Music by Jongnic Bontemps - Of whom I have never heard before this.

The release keeps getting put back though. Shooting wrapped in 2018 and was delayed to Blake Lively being injured on set. The release was then meant to February 2019 but has been moved to November 2019 to be a counter to the release of Frozen 2 (ironically with Sterling Brown's voice).

But I see now in the UK it is now February 2020! Probably getting close to the release of Bond 25.

I see the trailer is out for this now and has Sleigh Bells cover "Where did you sleep last night?" for the trailer.

And entire soundtrack of bass and drums is ripe for sampling!

score a future Bond film?
https://www.bontempsmusic.net/

I Imagine if this board had existed in the 1960s people would be pondering "Could Irwin Kostal have a shot at doing Bond?"

I doubt Bontemps is still on board for this.

It's gone in the hands of Hans who apparently put Steve Mazzaro on scoring duties here. To be confirmed but RCP crew is listed on IMDb now...

Saw this last night. Sort of an average Jason Bourne movie. Usual globe hoping assassins stuff. Although she never appears to be good enough to carry out the missions she does. Hans Zimmer credited as producer above credit for the composer. The mournful music with voice sounded like Gladiator. The rest is what you expect.

That's because, Lisa Gerrard did additional music for the movie.

Altough, no news of the score, but Mazzaro in his website put 5 tracks of the movie

https://www.stevemazzaro.com/listen

I want to listen the whole, sounds cool.

After 6 moths in dark, finally some news, and very important ones

The score is mastered, and hopefully, release at the end of this month, according to Mazzaro in his Instagram

While I agree with some of James' review the album still didn't really wow me. It sounded like what I expected from an RC composer score with the gimmick of the classical rhythm in the first track, I expected more from the "Scotland" cue than the now cliched pipe sound and while I'm sure the score is effective enough within the movie I find it a fairly average listen overall. If this reflects Mazzaro's range then I think it does not bode well for his work on NTTD. One thing I do agree with James on is Hans Zimmer hijacking the album cover with his producer credit bigger than Mazzaro's composer credit. Marketing it may be but producer credit should be a line on the back cover.
