Roger Feigelson posted this on the Intrada message board: Yes, a bit early due to some vacation schedules, so this Thursday you can look forward to this:

But that's the song album you are referring to (in used bins). Glad they are revisiting the score. There's some fantastic music on it. "Splinters" is such a great action track, got some classic Goldsmith sound in there. And Barron Funk is wonderfully weird and catchy.

I have the promo CD, so I doubt I'll get this unless there's extra music. Cool score, though. So, no official score CD ever came out?

I have looked in hundreds of used bins and have never seen this once. Because Mr. Marshall is confused with the Songs album (quite common indeed). There has never been an official Score album (except that promo many years ago). Great release, Intrada! Bring it on!

The REAL question about this one (to be answered next week), is if it's gonna be a Chris Young/Virtuosity concept album, or a straight up score release. And will it include all the score/song interpolations, that I always assumed held up it's legitimate (non-promo) release. Bodes well for a proper SWORDFISH release. Exactly, Kev! I'm really happy the score is finally getting an official release but the album would only really make sense if the promo program would be expanded. The promo's been out for ages and anyone interested in the music will have some kind of copy by now. Plus, this is a score that really shines C&C. E.g. the little motive popping up in the "Death TV" scene and later for the final confrontation between Barnes and Sid (right after "Splinters") is really cool! I just saw the movie very recently and as a genre-film it holds up really, really well. Of course it can't be taken seriously but an original story, sharp dialogue, creative editing, just the right amount of comical over the top violence and an underlying sarcastic social criticism make this one really stick out. Not to mention the great cast with Crowe defintely stealing the show. He's just brilliant in every scene. Even the supporting actors are top notch: Forsythe, Lynch, Fichtner and the always underused Stephen Spinella. And yes, a proper SWORDFISH release is long overdue ;-)
