I’m sure he’ll use the “Long Road” theme. Hopefully he’ll use the sub themes this time too.

I thought he did a pretty outstanding job on 4. so this is certainly welcome news.

ARSE

I found his previous RAMBO score to be a plodding, by the numbers, affair without the drive or adrenaline that Goldsmith brought to the original trilogy.

I’m cautiously optimistic about this.

I think his score for Rambo was not bad. Yes the action scoring is poor, it has some driving quality but lacks the complexity, power and excitement of Goldsmith’s previous scores. On the other hand the two themes he composed for the film are very good, in a similar vein of the Rambo III Afghanistan themes.

Tyler has also composed good action music, such as for Expendables 2 and Into The Storm, even overloading the orchestrations Tyler still at least knows how to incorporate themes in his action tracks.

If he incorporates the Goldsmith 5-note motiv and maintain some restraint in the orchestrations I think he might do a great score.

There's some 5/4 time .signature there,so that's a good sign

Sigh.

So so so sick of him getting gigs for big projects like this because people think he's in the same playing field as Goldsmith, or Walker, or place holder for the next film (say Robocop) he'll ruin, too.

Buy hey, have you seen his hair? It's the modern version of the "puffy shirt".

That remark was actually very funny and spot on.

Excellent news! Thanks for the heads up, Adam.

I welcome any Brian Tyler score, anyday. Especially in action mood.

I really like Tyler’s groove based scores like F&F as well as NYSM. I’m less enthused by his action work but also hope he brings some of that melodic sensibility to this last chapter of Rambo.

For the record there are few current composers who can be compared to a Goldsmith...but it’s unlikely someone with jerry’s Abilities and temperament would flourish in the current Hollywood system...

Hoping he brings his more “Expendables” type of feel to this last Rambo outing.

Can anyone tell me if Adam is Tylers publicist or Tyler himself? He seems a little obsessed with him and promoting him.

So, I should have a nickname TYLERDAKING, right?
