(1989-2019)

Hello everyone. I was thinking... now that it is the 30th anniversary, both since the movie was released AND Patrick Doyle and Kenneth Branagh started doing movies together, perhaps a complete release is a possibility?.

It was Branagh first picture, Doyle first score... and a masterpiece (the film AND the score). This, Indochine , Carlitos Way, Needful Thing and Potter are my most desired Doyle expansions.

Excuse my English.

Well, according to a fellow FSM member in another thread:

In the film, the score runs for about 75 minutes. So, 10-15 minutes more than the current one hour CD.

However, in the liner notes, Doyle talks about 90 minutes of music, so this could indicate that quite a bit of music was recorded but not used in the final cut of the film.

In any case, a remastering would be more than welcome. The current CD is a little bit flat and thin, and there is a little bit of clipping on the highs.

To me, almost all of his scores from 1989 to 1997 period are masterpieces, Doyle was mesmerizing and amazing back then, and especially Indochine could be his magnum opus, along with perhaps Frankenstein. But all of them are amazing, and would love to eventually having them in complete form.

At least we got Dead Again.

Just checked. Lawrence Ashmore memoirs says that Henry V was 75 minutes long, with all the music written and recorded used in the final picture. So, the liner notes must be wrong then.

Still, 75 minutes of music are 15 minutes more that what we have now.
