The 1992 Boxing film. Here's the big final showdown plus end credits. Very Hoosiers/Vanishing. Goldsmith was replaced by Brad Fiedel. It doesn’t seem like the film was recut.
I'm not sure you can do it, but the cue KNOCKOUT seem to be for a montage sequence in the film, if you can find it and restore that sequence, it would be awesome.
Thanks. I should have some more clips posted in the next few days. I sometimes feel like I’m spamming the board a bit with all these but it seems you guys like them so I’ll keep doing them.
It's not really spamming, though it would be helpful if you did one of the following:
Had one thread so we can keep track of it all, or like I do in my TV scores thread, when I am done I post a list with links to other threads I have done.
Again, a great job ! Have never seen the film but always loved the score. Sure, it's Son Of Hoosiers, but damn, Goldsmith's command of drama is undeniable
Its kinda cool that people are seeing this scene for the first time with the unused score. Really glad you like it. I’m definitely doing more from Gladiator. Also gonna do John Barry’s Golden Child.
It’s hard to say. Most of the scenes lean more towards his Vanishing/Russia House style. There are just a few spots where the upbeat Hoosiers stuff kicks in. Also Goldsmith apparently hated hearing his own music on a temp track.
That is one terrible movie. Not that the music isn't good, but somebody did Jerry a favor by excising his name and contribution from the final product.
