STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER---Lucasfilm/Hasbro released a photo of the red Sith Trooper from THE RISE OF SKYWALKER.
THE WALKING DEAD---Alexa Mansour, Nicolas Cantu and Hal Cumpston will star in the second untitled spinoff tv series which focuses on two young female protagonists and the first generation that comes-of-age during the zombie plague.
THE ETERNALS---Millie Bobby Brown has joined the cast of the Marvel Studios movie in an undisclosed role.
TERMINATOR: DARK FATE---director Tim Miller commented on the Mackenzie Davis character in the sequel, “Joe [Abercrombie, a novelist & consultant for the film] came out with this idea that a new protector from the future is a machine fighter. It’s a painful life, and they’re scarred and take a lot of drugs to combat the pain of what’s been done to them. They don’t live a long time. It’s a very sacrificial role; they risk death to save others.
And from the very first suggestion it was always a woman. We had to look for someone who has the physicality, but I’m very sensitive to actors. I didn’t just want a woman who could physically fit the role but emotionally as well. Mackenzie really wanted to do it; she came after the role. She worked harder than anybody.”
Miller also commented on Linda Hamilton returning, “If you’re at all enlightened, she’ll play like gangbusters. If you’re a closet misogynist, she’ll scare the f**k out of you, because she’s tough and strong but very feminine. We did not trade certain gender traits for others; she’s just very strong, and that frightens some dudes. You can see online the responses to some of the early sh*t that’s out there, trolls on the internet. I don’t give a f**k.”

TRIVIA---veteran character actor Warren Oates played a doomed soldier in two episodes of THE TWILIGHT ZONE. Oates played National Guard tank crewman Cpl. Richard Langsford in "The 7th Is Made Up Of Phantoms" where he died in the Battle of the Little Bighorn ("Custer's Last Stand"). Oates played the jeep driver in "The Purple Testament".

Agreed, an enlightened person would laugh at the though of a granny playing an action hero unless it was for laughs. And I love how Hollywood thinks it's okay to chastise, name call and insult half your fan-base before the film is even released.

Now wait a minute guys (and gals)...
I thought the trailer looked interesting, and I like the idea of a Terminator cross between an 800 and a 1000 (seems reasonable), and I thought the effects might have looked "beta" in places, BUT if an audience or more aptly individuals are going to open their mouths and offer opinion, they/we have got to be willing to withstand scrutiny and challenge and criticism on those opinions.
Just as artists, the subject of the discussions, must be.
We cannot claim unfettered rights to expression *and* unassailability for that expression. That's not fair, so I find myself with an open mind towards casting in this film... as long as the people are good for the roles, fit the parts, within an entertaining story. I support the actress's critique of the critiques levelled against them/her.

I don't have a problem with older actors being the star in action films. The problem though comes when the writers act like the 60+ year old actor is in his/her 20s. For example, Roger Moore in his last couple of Bond films wooing women young enough to be his granddaughters, or Harrison Ford in the Crystal Skull easily besting numerous 20 year old Russian soldiers in seemingly great shape. Plenty of great movies can be made using older actors, just tell the story in a way that enables the actor to act his/her age. Which means you set up the tension, and you give the older actor a way to level the playing field, such as give him or her a gun, or have a car chase sequence, or something else where the hero can win the day, but by being smart, and not necessarily hands on physical.
Some great examples of older actors shining in movies are Indy's dad in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and The Fugitive. There isn't any reason why this can't apply to the new Terminator movie. In fact, a Terminator film could be a great vehicle, as the terminators can't be physically bested by any human, and defeating them requires the right weapons and outsmarting them. Something a 60+ year old person is as capable of doing as a 20 something. There isn't any reason Linda Hamilton can't be a complete badass in this movie, especially considering Terminator 2 already established her as a complete badass.
