I mainly know him from films I watched growing up. Elephant Man, Krull, Young Sherlock Holmes and then, these past years, in the Yorkshire based soap opera Emmerdale.
Anyway, 91 is a good innings.
He was a proper old fashioned British thesp.
If Rip Torn can have two RIP threads, old Freddie deserves one.

He even played John Steed for a generous portion of The Avengers episode Who's Who!

RIP

I think it was in loving memory (TV show) that I remember him falling into a grave.

I remember his name from the FIRESTARTER credits. I also saw him in DUNE and WILD AT HEART.

RIP

I remember him from the Ghosts of Motley Hall, a kids' sit-com from the 1970s. Sad news.

I noticed him first in Man who haunted himself. Then i recall him again in Juggernaut ("cut the blue wire!") And a kids thriller called Children of the stones- which i loved in 1977!

Been in so many things, just about all series in the 70s, from the protectors to Hazell to van der valk.

Wasn't he in Firestarter, as the guy who got murdered by George C. Scott by getting Karate chopped in the nose?
