MONDAY, JUNE 24

FANTASTIC FOUR---Sean Astin commented on how he almost directed the 2005 superhero movie.

LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRwd2UFZMAA

THE STAND---the CBS All Access 10-part miniseries has the following actors in negotiations for the cast: James Marsden as Stu Redman, Amber Heard as Nadine Cross, Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Abagail, Greg Kinnear as Glen Bateman and Odessa Young as Frannie Goldsmith.

THE COMEBACK TRAIL---Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones and Morgan Freeman star in this comedy movie about a movie producer who hires a has-been, suicidal actor to star in a poorly-written Western movie so he can kill the actor, cancel the movie and then collect on the movie's insurance policy so he can pay off his debt to a mob boss. George Gallo is the writer/director and will reunite with De Niro, who starred in Gallo's MIDNIGHT RUN.

VENOM---producer Amy Pascal confirmed Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams and Woody Harrelson are returning for the sequel. She also hinted at a crossover with Spider-Man, "Everybody would love to see that. You never know someday… it might happen. We have big plans for Tom Holland to be a part of everything, Every movie we ever do! He needs to be in every movie that I ever work on!"
She also commented on the BLACK CAT movie, “I like Black Cat a lot, I think she is a really great character. We had her a little bit in THE AMAZING [SPIDER-MAN] movie, but she’s kind of that character that we didn’t really turn into the Black Cat yet. I think that’s a really great character. We’re still working on that. I think we have plans for that.”

THE TRENCH---James Wan commented on the AQUAMAN spinoff movie, "...we’re still deep in sort of crafting the script, crafting the story right now so I don’t want to get into that too much, but definitely it’s one that I really want to lean into the horror of it, so it’s going to play more as a monster horror movie then it will as a superhero film, but it’s still definitely part of the Aquaman world.”

28 DAYS LATER---Danny Boyle said he is working on another sequel, “Alex Garland and I have a wonderful idea for the third part, it’s properly good. The original film led to a bit of a resurgence in the zombie drama and it doesn’t reference any of that. It doesn’t feel stale at all. He’s concentrating on directing his own work at the moment, so it’s stood in abeyance really, but it’s a you-never-know.”

THE BATMAN---Josh Gad confirmed he is not playing The Penguin in the movie.

THE CRAFT---Cailee Spaeny (PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING) is in negotiations to star in the Sony Pictures reboot movie.

KILLERMAN---Liam Hemsworth stars in this movie about a New York money launderer who wakes up with amnesia, million of dollars and drugs while he is pursued by crooked cops.

RED SONJA---Jill Soloway has replaced Bryan Singer as the writer/director of the reboot movie.

TRIVIA---more James Bond movie trivia.
In NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN, Rowan Atkinson had his first feature film role as British embassy staffer Nigel Small-Fawcett.
Atkinson said about his role, “It felt like an extraordinary thing, I think it was the first proper film that I had ever made and there I was in first class in a British Airways flight on my way to shot a Bond movie in the Bahamas at the age of 27 or whatever I was.”
Atkinson added, “Sean Connery was very sweet and the film was fine. Actually it wasn’t very fine in my opinion, because of my performance in it.It’s one of those things that you do when you’re very young and you think this is the way to do it and when I look at it now I think ‘Hmmm no, I wish I had done something a little different’.”

Of course. We need a female director/writer for a female lead movie! I just hope the non livable wage job for sweeping the set goes to a female too. We need equal representation!

Gee, THE STAND was one of the best King adaptations.
Why not remake one of the crappy ones (lots to choose from there)

I concur. One more minute step towards parity is always a good idea.

I'm looking forward to the day when a woman helming a film for any reason isn't looked on as PC or "toxic feminism." Why does it feel like we fell back a few decades?

How about a reaction as to why Bryan Singer was replaced? I think that should inspire more outrage than the gender of the director.

Wow, Scott. You said what I certainly feel. Perfect comments.

Bryan Singer was forced out of RED SONJA because of the widely-publicized sexual assault allegations. Soloway is the creator of TRANSPARENT where Jeffrey Tambor was forced out for sexual harassment.
I've mentioned both of these subjects before, so I didn't mention them in the above post, but I assume there's a connection between RED SONJA and TRANSPARENT.

Tell that to the SJW's, Brea Larson and Kathleen Kennedy. They're the ones pushing this nonsense.

How come all these ' under paid ' actresses never mention porn?
Male actors are paid much LESS than female.

Where is the outrage?

Unfortunately, I'm no longer surprised by these comments. As those in positions to make positive changes do so, those who feel entitled to their hate or bigotry will only lash out more. They feel threatened. What's the saying? When you've lived a life of privilege, equality feels like oppression.

The dinosaurs are impotently roaring their dying breaths through the ash cloud that's covering the world they knew. Good riddance.

I.just saw a.news report about the children being held in detention camps at the.border.
No showers...no soap...no tooth brushes... Poor medical care....
Sleeping on floors....
And 'persons of faith' defends these outrages!

That bothers me. Not the petty problems of Hollywood actors and directors...

Large portion of Americans are crazy for sex scandals regardless if there's anything to them. A lot of the personal attacks on people in Hollywood are allegations and nothing more, but the SJW's are out to destroy anyone in the entertainment industry that they don't like regardless of facts.

Precisely, Nicholas. In a nutshell, "threatened" is the perfect word. It is about fear. (Or maybe even about some emotional scarring from one's past.)
