I haven't been CD shopping in Orlando since CD Warehouse was a thing but I remember Park Avenue CDs in Winter Park was impressive. Sci-Fi City use to sell sci fi sountracks but it's been a good 15 years since I've been there so I don't know if they still do or not. I've also heard good things about East West Music but I've never been there so I can't say for sure. Happy hunting!

For the Bay Area, in addition to Amoeba, which has a location in SF and Berkeley, there is also Rasputin's, which has several locations around the Bay Area, and sells both new and used cds. Sadly, the selection isn't what it used to be, but most locations have a good amount of cds available, including most mainstream recent releases. They also have a decent used selection, so it is worth checking out if you are in the area. There are also a handful of Half-Price Books locations around, but I don't know that it is worth your time going there unless you are also looking for things other than cds. They have a very small soundtrack section which is unpredictable, but every once in a while you can find a gem at a pretty good price. Most of what they have are mainstream, but occasionally, I have seen releases from the specialty labels, including FSM, Intrada, La La Land, and more. Happy hunting, and enjoy your visit!

Visiting California, Oregon and Florida in August and, besides Amoeba, looking for unmissable Soundtrack/score specialists in L.A. / San Fran / Portland / Orlando.... any must-visits? Thanks in advance. In Los Angeles my favorite record store is Record Surplus at 12436 Santa Monica Blvd. You can spend hours going through their records, CDs, books, etc. Their website is recordsurplusla.com.

The Rasputin in SF is tiny and has a poor selection of soundtracks (unless you're totally into pop scores). The one in Berkeley is bigger and has a huge used selection, especially of classical, moderate-to-okay selection of soundtracks.

Everyday Music location in Portland. Seconded. The staff is great, too, and they have a preview station.

Had a great LP selection of scores.
