STAR WARS---Oscar-winner Emma Thompson said she put out feelers to Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Studios that she wanted to be in a STAR WARS movie, but she was turned down, "My agent actually said to the last people who were making the last STAR WARS…She’d be really interested in being in the next STAR WARS. I actually really like STAR WARS. And they said ‘no.’ I’m not in STAR WARS because they don’t want me to be in STAR WARS."
She added about a role she could play, "...I could be Jabba the Hutt’s handmaiden. I could squeeze those frogs for him.”
THE BALLAD OF RICHARD JEWELL---Kathy Bates will co-star in the Clint Eastwood movie about the Atlanta security guard who was falsely accused of being a suspect in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games bombing. Bates will play Jewell's mother, Bobi.
FORCE OF NATURE---Emile Hirsch will co-star with Mel Gibson in this movie about a retired police detective who protects the residents of a building from criminals during a deadly hurricane.
WALDO---Dominic Monaghan will co-star with Mel Gibson and Charlie Hunnam in this movie based on the novel LAST LOOKS in which a disgraced ex-LAPD detective investigates the murder of an eccentric tv star's wife.
INSANE---Jon Turteltaub (THE MEG) will direct this movie about "Crazy" Eddie Antar, head of the New York Crazy Eddie electronics stores who was convicted in one of the largest securities fraud in history.
BLACK CHRISTMAS---Imogen Poots will star in this second remake of the 1974 slasher movie.
UNDER THE DOME---Stephen King wants Netflix to develop a movie based on his novel which was a CBS tv series.
EVERYBODY'S TALKING ABOUT JAMIE---Richard E. Grant will star in this movie based on the play about a teenage drag queen who is tutored by an ex-drag queen.
TRIVIA---in CITY SLICKERS, the second unit director in Pamplona, Spain was Fraser Heston, son of Charlton Heston.

And are Star Wars Fans really clamoring for an Emma Thompson appearance in the series? I'm not sure how this qualifies as "Disney Hates Its Fans?" Unless you mean Emma Thompson. I'm sure a LOT of actors would like to be in a Star Wars film. Can't say yes to them all...
