I am with you, Stovepipe46! This Ron Goodwin score is one of my Holy Grails. I was hoping that Intrada may release it when some years ago they had that run of several Goodwin CDs... but alas!

I saw this in a theater way back when. Production values and music were its best assets. But the script and somewhat wooden performances marred the proceedings.
Like other films directed by Wilde, there are sudden moments of violence, shocking for the time when it was made, though seeming bland, compared to what’s shown nowadays.

I saw THE SWORD OF LANCELOT in 1963, as the co-feature with Hammer's KISS OF THE VAMPIRE. When SWORD was later shown on US TV, some of the violence and the unclothed swimming scene were cut.
The film apparently lapsed into public domain status in the US. For decades, there were poor quality VHS and DVD releases on el cheapo labels. Most of those cost about ten bucks at retail.
Finally, in 2012, Koch Media in Germany released an excellent PAL DVD that restored the CinemaScope aspect ratio and featured improved color values. Univeral's logo appeared on the packaging, so I assume that this was a legitimate release. In fact, I'd call it a restoration, compared to the terrible US tapes and discs of the film. The PAL had the original English audiio track, along with a German audio track as well.
My guess is that the YouTube version is probably derived from the PAL DVD release.
I too would like a CD of the full score. Calling it a "Holy Grail" is very appropriate, given the subject matter.
