A few years after the theatrical premiere of Dark Passage, another not so well known film noir with murder on its mind was released, 1949’s Impact. The two films share another feature: their atmospheric use of San Francisco locations. Taking up residence in Nob Hill’s famous Brocklebank Apartments is actress Helen Walker’s Irene Williams, whose prime objective is to see her husband deader than a lug wrench.
