I chuckle every time I see a classy outfit like Sony Classical releasing a score for a, um, less classy movie.
I'm just cautiously encouraged that Sony Classical is releasing scores on their own in the wake of Sony kicking the specialty labels to the curb. First Ghostbusters and now this. Again...cautiously encouraged.
The End Title kind of sounds like... Francis Lai?! Sure wasn't expecting that, but I like it and will be looking forward to hearing what the rest of this score sounds like.
Edit: Now I understand the post above mine, the End Title is a new arrangement of Joe Renzetti's material from the original (a score I admittedly didn't remember at all, but I do remember Revell's sequel score quite well). I've listened to the original recording as well now and both sound like Lai to me - especially this 2019 version - but I'm not counting on the rest of the score sounding like this.
This might be my favorite Chucky score since Child's Play 2 (which, yes, STILL DESPERATELY NEEDS A RELEASE...but that's another story). That main theme sounds like something out of Goblin/Dario Argento.
