Surprisingly neat album! Solid performances. Great set of songs and some genuine revelations (Players, The Detective).
The only one that doesn't quite work for me is Legend - which attempts to link all of Lily's vocals into one "song". This one required a bigger orchestra.
Looking forward to Vol.2. Can we expect "We're Home Again" from The Boys From Brazil and... "The Moon's A Window To Heaven"? lol
I LOVE an album that digs into a great composer's backlog and finds not just obscure pieces but something like "May Wine" from THE BLUE MAX that has never seen the light of day in any form. It proves what I always believed that the little known melody can be just as good or better than the famous ones.
