I just saw that there's a digital release for the Downton Abbey: A New Era movie that is coming this week. Has anybody here given it a listen?

Yes, awhile back. Alas, I found it rather glossy and superficial -- and rather boring -- compared to the wonderful series score.

I found a CD over at Amazon UK, pre-ordered it, comes out sometime in June.

I ADORE this series and the music is right up my alley, an instant buy. And I couldn't wait so I downloaded the darn soundtrack now to listen. John Lunn you're worth it!!

Did anyone end up putting all score tracks in chronological order?

And I suppose the Christmas album is needed for the two suite tracks? Or are those on any of the other CD's too?

Anyone who puzzled together all the albums of the TV series?

On page 1 of this thread Turbo posted the following:

I looked at this a few years back. If you have the ultimate collection then you only need tracks 3, 6, 8, 10, 16-17, 19, 21-23 from the Essential Collection.

If you also have those tracks from the essential collection, you only need tracks 7, 12, 14-15, 17 from the original soundtrack.

I don't know if that covers everything released but it's a good place to start.

The musical highlights on "The Ultimate Collection" are very nice, but I do wish a more complete boxset could one day see the light of day. Perhaps a number of volumes, just like LLL did with the X-Files Volumes.

I've been watching the 6 TV series seasons + the two feature films over the last weeks and enjoyed them tremendously. The superb score by John Lunn was undoubtedly a great part of the pleasure. I purchased the various albums and played them repeatedly. To me, it once again demonstrates that high profile TV shows of that kind are likely to inspire outstanding music.

I also was late to the party and binge-watched (and loved) all 6 seasons and both films recently.

The wonderful scoring by John Lunn set me out on a quest to locate everything that he's done, which I completed last month.

One series which has a very similar scoring effort is BELGRAVIA. It takes place in the past, way before DOWNTON ABBEY. The score is digital-only (so far), but I accepted modern life and bit the bullet on Amazon. It's also quite good. A second series has been approved.

BELGRAVIA (John Lunn)
