WEDNESDAY, MAY 15

THE DEAD DON"T DIE---red band trailer released for the zombie movie starring Bil Murray and Adam Driver.

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2f28CzL6WUw

DAS BOOT---Hulu trailer released for the miniseries based on the 1981 Wolfgang Petersen movie.

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDRoR6aeshI

GAME OF THRONES---HBO released two photos from the final episode.

Daenerys Targaryen looks at her army amidst the ruins of King's Landing.

Tyrion Lannister stands in the rubble of King's Landing.

The latest episode drew a record 12.5 million viewers. It surpassed Episode 3 which had 12.2 million viewers.
Fans unhappy with the current Season 8 have started a petition asking HBO to remake the Season 8 with new writers, "David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on. This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!" The petition has over 17,000 signatures at last count.
Also, George RR Martin denied a comment by Ian McElhinney that the sixth and seventh books have been finished, "All of a sudden this crazy story about my finishing THE WINDS OF WINTER and A DREAM OF SPRING years ago is popping up everywhere. No, I am not going to provide links. I don't want to reward purveyors of misinformation with hits."
Martin added, "I will, however, say for the record - no, THE WINDS OF WINTER and A DREAM OF SPRING are not finished. DREAM is not even begun; I am not going to start writing volume seven until I finish volume six."
He continued, "Why would I sit for years on completed novels? Why would my publishers - not just here in the US, but all around the world - ever consent to this? They make millions and millions of dollars every time a new Ice & Fire book comes out, as do I. Delaying makes no sense. Why would HBO want the books delayed? The books help create interest in the show, just as the show creates interest in the books.
So... no, the books are not done. HBO did not ask me to delay them. Nor did David & Dan. There is no 'deal' to hold back on the books. I assure you, HBO and David & Dan would both have been thrilled and delighted if THE WINDS OF WINTER had been delivered and published four or five years ago... and NO ONE would have been more delighted than me."

MEGALOPOLIS---Francis Ford Coppola commented on casting for his latest movie, “I mean, we made the offer now to several actors . I can’t say they’ve accepted, but they were very enthusiastic. One of them is Jude Law and another Shia LaBeouf. I may shortly have my lead actress.”

GHOSTBUSTERS---Bill Murray said he would appear in the reboot movie if he was asked, “I was in that movie (the 2016 reboot) just because they asked me, and I knew if I said no, I was saying I didn’t support that movie. I felt like, ‘OK, I’m going to support them because I support them as people. So I did that one and I would do this next one.’”

CRUELLA---Emma Thompson is in talks to star with Emma Stone in the Walt Disney Pictures live-action 101 DALMATIANS spinoff movie.

AVATAR---Jemaine Clement will play Dr. Garvin, a marine biologist on Pandora.

BATMAN---George Clooney (BATMAN & ROBIN) told Ben Affleck not to star in BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE), "I actually did talk to him about it. I said, 'Don't do it'. It was only from my experience, which is, you know...".

THE WALKING DEAD---Michael Cudlitz confirmed he will return to direct an episode in Season 10 after directing an episode in Season 9.

TRIVIA---in INDIANA JONES AND THE RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, Indiana Jones threatens to destroy the Ark of the Covenant with a German portable rocket launcher. In reality, the movie is set in 1936, but the German army did not develop a portable rocket launcher until it captured US M1 Bazooka rocket launchers in 1943 which led to the German Panzerschreck.
The movie's Panzerschreck is actually a modified Chinese copy of the Soviet RPG-2 which was introduced in 1954.

Indiana Jones threatens to destroy the Ark of the Covenant with a German portable rocket launcher which is really a Chinese copy of a Soviet RPG-2 which was introduced in 1954.

The real German Panzerschreck was introduced in 1943---seven years after the movie's setting of 1936.

So Bill didn't want to supposed the third film that ended up not happening.

And he didn't want to do that film, but he'll do a zombie film. Zombie trend takes another victim.

I quite fancied the Dad Boot redo, but I don't get Sky Atlantic. Anyway, I see it's coming out on Blu-ray, so I'll get that when the price nudges down a bit.

Re: DAS BOOT-

Sure to have gratuitous violence and sex. Whats with the sh*tty music in the trailer? This looks overly bloated for shock value. We all know how horrible the NAZI's were. That's not the point of the story. The original is a masterpiece. Doesn't need to be redone.

Are people so childish and self-centered that they actually think a studio is going to piss away millions just because they're disappointed? Well, it worked with The Last Jedi, so I guess history could repeat itself.

Oh, wait...

It was started as a joke but the sentiment was real. No one believes a major studio are going to "remake" a season. Though it shows many are dissatisfied with the last season from all accounts has terrible writing, dropped character arcs, characters out of character, meaningless deaths, sloppy post production and generally looks like they were rushing to finish the series. And for that matter some of the major cast members agrees with the fans. So it's not just a bunch of "childish fans" complaining. What the studio might have done is piss away millions on their planned spin-offs because of this mess.

The fact that it has that many signatures demonstrates that there are huge numbers who think it'll be remade because it wasn't to their liking. That's pretty childish. Fans need to learn that no one owes them anything and move on with their lives like adults.

The real German Panzerschreck was introduced in 1943---seven years after the movie's setting of 1936.

That's just one of many countless flaws in Raiders.

I know you're kinda joking but the big difference is people who like ST:V know it's shortcomings. People defending Game of Moans have no critical thinking skills and just love whatever is spoon fed to them thus feel the need to lash out at those who expect better.

What??? There are more flaws??? I thought that movie was realistic depiction of a real event during a certain point of time.

You could have reserved your sarcastic, generic remark for dragon's having pointed out the anachronism in the first place!

Cretin.

As was Chaz Lindberg and Joe "The Appeaser" Kennedy (and his younger namesake). Lots of lefty celebs worshiped Stalin, too.

In fact, lots of today's big shot celebrity "intellectuals" just wuuuv them some far-right/left dictators; like Javier Bardem, Harry Belafonte, Colin Kaepernick, Sean Penn, Danny Glover, Jamie Foxx, Bob Redford, et al.
