Yeah, I was just thinking about that. Some sort of trend around here as of late. Graham He’s been in the middle of a very big project and just tied up. I’m sure you’ll see him poke up his head sometime very soon. Ford A. Thaxton

Just saw this. Hello everybody. My pandas and I are well. Ford is correct, I got very busy with a big project. But honestly, I think my absence showed me that I’m better off away from here. Of late, I found that I was consistently rubbing people the wrong way. I was accused of arrogance, of obsequiousness to the labels, and one member seemed to believe I held a personal grudge against him. I noticed on the Internet a few years ago that nobody hates “Star Wars” more than “Star Wars” fanatics, and I see the same paradox here. I have not lost my passion for film music, but I have lost interest in reading outrage that some label has failed in its moral duty to release a score that might sell 200 copies, or else it’s not in the format we most want, or it’s come in an eco-pak, or has crossfades. And so I left. I said nothing about it, because I didn’t expect anybody would notice, but I guess a couple of you have. Sense-memory still brings me back here on occasion. I debated whether to post this at all, as I’m sure it’s not going to do me any favors with the crowd that finds me arrogant. I still look forward to all the wonderful releases that miraculously make it out of the studio vaults from our beloved labels, but I have lost the energy to argue with people about them. Is that a collective sigh of relief I hear? Yes, I figured. Be well everybody!

Well, I have to step in to say, that I frequently click(ed?) on threads based on the "By SchiffyM - view" sign alone, even if moderately interested in the subject, because I knew there will be something witty and intelligent about them. If indeed Schiffy and its pandas were to step down it would be a tremendous loss for this board. And you know, while I often admire people like Schiffy who repeatedly try to reason some behaviors of this board, well, sometimes you can just ignore them, and post only on the personal matter of things you liked, didn't like, want to share etc. All the best!

Dear Schiffy, I love your posts and thoughtful comments - don't let the small group of haters drive you away from here. Your intelligence is absolutely needed. And really - it´s only a very select few who get outraged by anything. It´s like on the political stage right now: the loudest voices in the room are not always speaking for the majority.

Schiffy, you are literally the board member whose posts I look forward to the most. Always witty, always interesting. You've been a highlight of reading this board for years. I really hope that you come back after you feel you've spent enough time away to recharge. In case it matters: I will really miss you if you don't! Yavar

I also enjoy most of SchiffyM's comments; usually concise, thoughtful, and well meaning. I'm a little surprised he hasn't chimed in to let us know, in those ways, that this is the wrong forum to post the message in. ;-)

Yeah, I'll add to this. I don't always agree with you but I always enjoy talking with you. That's a asset to this community.

Even on those rare occasions when I disagree with Schiffy he still manages to make me appreciate his position. Yavar

I think it would be a shame, as I think you're one of the few posters on here with a sense of perspective and reality. But I don't blame you.
