Very good film, I do have a small quibble with the casting Lancaster, great actor as he was of course, it seems like they could have gotten a quality Euro actor with a real accent, but alas, this was marquee casting to bring in the viewers.

Burt Lancaster was perfect for this film (and many others!) and his performance is exceptional. I cannot imagine the film working so well without the presence of this great actor. Terrific film, so involving and the black-and-white cinematography is a plus. Unfortunately, Maurice Jarre's music is rather weak, but not enough to derail the proceedings...
