Goldsmith replaced the departed Maurice Jarre at the last minute and had only 3 1/2 days to record the score.

Call me crazy but I've always thought First Knight to be a terrific movie. Well made and a marvelous Goldsmith score. Yes, Gere is miscast but he does well enough in the role. I watch it often on DVD.

NIGHTMARE ALLEY -- another film that doesn't need a remake.

Same here. Always liked this take on the Arthurian legend. What I love about that particular visual approach is that they went the opposite direction as other modern depictions of the "Middle Ages". While others got "darker" and "grittier" and "more realisitc", "First Knight" continued the idealized and non-historical portrays of medieval chivalry of such monumental films as "Ivanhoe" or "Knights of the Round Table".

Goldsmith' score is one of my favorites.

If they return to the novel as the blurb implies, maybe there's enough differences to warrant a more complete adaption. But it was a contemporary setting at the time. One wonders if Del Toro will also set in present day, or make a period film. I just watched "Shutter Island" so maybe that inspired Del Toro to cast DiCaprio for an older 1940s setting.

Really looking forward to Catch-22. I read that it's on Channel Four in the UK.

Am thrilled that Salems Lot, my favorite King film, is getting what I hope to be, a bonafide scary, retelling. I did not care for the previous miniseries that was a bit of a bore, though pretty close to the book. With James Wan producing at least it gets a chance.

A bunch of lawless teens, yeah that sounds like Star Trek! Jesus, just give it up already. Fire everyone at CBS and retire the franchise.

Thanks! :-D

I didn't know that he had only about three weeks to write the score. He must have worked all day and night to achieve it.

Maybe they mean the characters from the farfetched duplicate earth episode.

That "kid" in the middle was in everything in the 60's and early 70's. I wonder what happened to him?

I'm interested to see The Lighthouse. The Witch was pretty good.

Catch-22 looks like it has a chance of being a decent adaption, going off the trailer.

I like the first David Soul mini-series, I enjoyed it when it first went out & have the Blu-ray, but I thought the second Rob Lowe version was forgettable (I fact I think most people have forgotten it). So yeah, bring on the third version. The Stand could do with a remake.
