The great Les Reed passed away yesterday. One of the finest songwriters of all time, he also scored a multitude of projects including GIRL ON A MOTORCYCLE and LES BICYCLETTES DE BELSIZE, two iconic Sixties Soundtracks. He also fronted the Granada series, mid Seventies I think. POP PROMS, conducting his other and other Pop Classics. A KIND OF A HUSH, DELILAH and THE LAST WALTZ, just a couple of his hits. Don't forget he was also part of the Famous John Barry Seven, and Orchestra, who's amazing story has been chronicled in Geoff Leonard and Pete Walker's must read book: HIT AND MISS THE STORY OF THE JOHN BARRY SEVEN. Heck, apart from that he was the most down to earth and approachable Guys you could ever wish to met, and you can't say that for all Composers! Thanks Les; "There's a kind of Hush"

I have seen CREEPSHOW 2 from 1987, scored by Reed.

Ther indeed is "A kind of hush" all over the music world. Will be sorely missed. His compositions and arrangements were always the hallmark of quality. RIP Mr Reed.
