Sorry, but I go brain dead once in while.
this might cause me to repeat or forget past posts.
Plus I just live in the moment.
There are threads that I've been searching for my whole life

Doggie, I thought you were always searching for steak bones and your doggie dish.

Howard, I don't know how you can even remember the titles of some of these ancient threads. Yep, we were young a long time ago. smile

TG has a better memory than joan but Howard L has the best memory of all or else he collects links to old FSM threads.

Ladies, I humbly thank you and flattery will get you everywhere with me but it's not quite like that. True, I have a small treasure trove of hard copies from The Era and as "Howard L" once said to "Mr. G..."

JERRY: I’ve seen ones like you.

HOWARD: What do you mean “like you?”

JERRY: I didn’t mean that as an insult.

HOWARD: Sorry. What did you mean?

JERRY: I mean there are some people who remember the most obscure things.

HOWARD (conceding): Yes. Doesn’t mean it’s intentional.

...AHEM please let me give you and everyone else one small piece of advice for whatever it's worth:
The heck with the Search Engine. Instead, type...

site:filmscoremonthly.com/board

...and immediately add a space, key word or short phrase--supplying " " if that'll help--and finally hit Enter/Go/Search whatever and watch FSWorld light up on your screen/Ipad/phone whatever. Has served me well and I guarantee y'all too will look like geniuses. Or geeks. Mutants. Twits (Hi Ron P, wherever you are!).

Alas, Joan, life has been cruel.

at dog dish anonymous I was told all is fleeting and I must face the truth. "it' gone"

just like John Wayne in the searchers. It's the door to the outside world.

No bones no dish. just??????

I am trying your suggestion, Howard. I found a few things that way. I'll keep practicing.

All gone, doggie, like "tears in the rain." Oh, poor doggie.

"Edwzoomom's Lament" - To the tune of The Thrill is Gone (Hawkins/Darnell) - BB King version.
Inspired by Edwzoomom, including quotations, also Jehannum, Joan and others

Edwzoomom's Lament
The thrill is gone
“What am I missing” now?
The thrill is gone
“What is wrong with me”?
“Why can’t I feel the rush,
The buzz, the kick”, oh, mercy me!

The thrill is gone
I just can’t find the joy.
The thrill is gone
My purpose has gone, too.
No joy in bustin’ necrobumpers,
Whatever shall I do?

The thrill is gone
Something must be missing now.
The thrill is gone
Got to get it back, but how?
I don’t bother researchin’ no more
To see if a thread’s been done before!

I’ve gotta try
To get back in the game.
I’ve gotta try, I’ve gotta try
To get back in the game.
This ennui and apathy,
Sure got me feelin’ lame!

jack, you are funny, talented and you need to keep on doing what you are doing. I really enjoyed that and feel honored. Singing it now.....(that is, after I make sure it hasn't been done before) smile

So glad you liked it, thanks! Somehow when I started reading your first post, that song just popped into my head.

No problem, Howard. You are one of the nicest, sweetest men on the FSM board. The poster misunderstood your post, and you replied with a most gracious, kind apology. Miscommunications occur now and then even when we think we've posted with clarity.

Cute, Bill. You are the King of irony. smile

I'll go off topic for a bit here because Edw lives too far away to beat me with a rolling pin.

I'll refer to the "Missing" part of the title. Bill, you have mentioned two missing posters, Chris K. and Octoberman. Chris K and I go back about 19 years on the board. When Chris is here, he and Howard have several running topics. Chris has often taken a year off (or more) from posting. Then he comes back. Hope he does and that he is well.

However, I've not seen Octoberman disappear for such a long time. Hoping he comes back soon. Great guy. Same with Ron Pulliam.

We should have a register, just like in school, and every morning, we sign in on 'The Register Thread' and anyone who doesn't, needs to show an 'excuse me' note, from a 'grown-up' wink
