I was so jazzed to hear about this earlier today. The Network blu ray of year 2 looks amazing. I hope they keep all of the bonus features. The reworking of Seed of Destruction to make it fit into the first season style is a lot of fun. I was going to wait for it to hit Amazon and other less pricey distributors, but my wife was all "you know you want the snow globe,..." I'll consider the added cost the value of the globe.

It'll drop in price out of the Shout site. But as this is my third favorite TV Series of all time, and I've bought it on nearly every format, I am totally fine with it.

I have the A&E blus and the Network UK blus, but I am still so down for this. My top three shows of all time are Star Trek The Original Series – a perfect melding of action/adventure and (mostly) intelligent SF Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea – the ultimate in fun, schlock SF Space:1999: kinda combines the best of both. The first year was sober and philosophical, with amazing touches of horror and metaphysics. It didn’t answer every question posed and some things just happened because “space is f’n weird!” Some duds in there, but really great stuff for the most part with beautiful music. It was a fantasy: the power to shove the moon into space at that speed would have destroyed it and killed everyone, but it was presented so seriously, I bought it. Year two rolled around when I was like 10. So, it never bothered me that characters vanished, jackets appeared, the control center got smaller and monsters showed up. It was so much fun and exciting, I hung on every episode. Catherine Schell was wonderful as Maya and even though her powers were not well thought out, I enjoyed her immensely. The years have not dulled my love of this series and I can say that I honestly love year two just as much as year one. Just for different reasons. Triple dipping year 1 to get year 2 on a US region BD release is no issue with me. And I get the snow globe!
