MONDAY, APRIL 8

AVENGERS: ENDGAME---new film clip released.

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QbltzIUV6w

THE TERROR: INFAMY---AMC released photos, including George Takei (STAR TREK), from Season 2 which follows an evil entity from a World War II Japanese-American internment camp to combat in the Pacific Theater. The premiere is August 12.

THE WALKING DEAD---AMC announced a third series is underway which will focus on two young women and will premiere in 2020, “We’re thrilled that the Dead will keep walking into a new corner of the post-apocalyptic world, a corner that will present stories and characters unlike any that The Walking Dead has dramatized thus far, and that is bound to excite one of the most passionate fanbases in television.” Scott Gimple and Matt Negrete are the creators.
Also, Gimple hinted that FEAR THE WALKING DEAD might continue a plotline from the original series, "This season, I wouldn’t classify it as an enemy, but there will be this, beyond Austin [Amelio], this very interesting commonality, this story strand that’s gonna be furthered on this show that started on THE WALKING DEAD. And who knows where it will go? But that’s the thing on tap right now.”
Chandler Riggs said he is interested in returning as Carl Grimes if the opportunity arises, "Great, yeah, it’d be a lot of fun. I’m super down, yeah. That would be awesome."

STAR WARS: EPISODE IX---Rian Johnson said he is ok with it if JJ Abrams's EPISODE IX addresses fan criticism of Johnson's THE LAST JEDI (Luke Skywalker's death, Rey's parents, Snoke's early exit, etc.), “...I want to let go of all my expectations. I want to sit back. I want to be entertained. I want to be surprised. I want to be thrilled. I want him to do stuff I wasn’t expecting him to do and just go along for the ride. I’m also psyched about the things they are going to explore beyond what we’ve seen already. To me, that’s kind of the most exciting stuff is pushing the limits of seeing stuff we haven’t seen before in STAR WARS.”

DEADWOOD---Ian McShane commented on the HBO movie, “DEADWOOD we just finished. I saw it the other day. Tim [Olyphant] and I had a few comments. I think it’s – yeah, it’s OK. Yeah, it’s good. Again it’s, you know, don’t expect an episodic piece. It’s difficult when you’ve gotta make a two hour movie of an episodic TV.
But I think they got the setting right, they got the links right, and they got everybody back which is really great, ’cause they could have made you know, ‘Seth and Al ride the high country together!’ That wouldn’t have been DEADWOOD. That would just be me and Tim sort of catching it… this is (David) Milch DEADWOOD circa 10 years later. Statehood difficulty, characters have moved on; they’re a little changed which is great.”

RAMBO---Sylvester Stallone commented on the last movie in the franchise in which Rambo journeys to Mexico to rescue a friend's granddaughter who was kidnapped by a sex-trafficking ring, "...this last RAMBO is just coming together beautifully. Today we’re going to screen it for the studio and that’s going to be fantastic. I’m just looking forward to of course (get) their notes. But we’ll go back. And I think this film is going to surprise a lot of people. It’s a really good story, and the ending is so unexpected. So I just want to say, come September 20th, RAMBO is coming your way.”

THE SWARM---tv series underway based on the sci fi novel about a team of scientists and military officers who discover an intelligent undersea species is planning to invade mankind. Alan Taylor (THOR: THE DARK WORLD) is the director.

LEE CHILD: TRUE CRIME---new international true crime tv anthology series underway from Lee Child (JACK REACHER) author described as, “BLACK MIRROR-meets-THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI”.

SECRET WARS---Joe Russo talked about the next project for the Russo Brothers now that they are finished with AVENGERS: ENDGAME, “I keep saying Secret Wars ’cause that was one of the first books that I really fell in love with as a kid…this notion of event storytelling. That’s part of the reason that we gravitate so strongly towards these event films and these ensemble films is that the notion that you can contain so many different characters, and so many different points of view, and galvanize them around a story point is really compelling to us.”

BATMAN---for Batman's 80th anniversary, four Batman movies will be rereleased in over 600 theaters for one night only. BATMAN--May 4, BATMAN RETURNS--May 6, BATMAN FOREVER--May 12 and BATMAN & ROBIN--May 14.

KILLING EVE--AMC renewed the series for Season 3.

TRIVIA---more James Bond movie trivia.
In OCTOPUSSY, the voice of the Galley Mistress is provided by Ingrid Pitt, who is best known for her Hammer Films vampiress roles and appearing with Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood in WHERE EAGLES DARE.

RE: Batman --- I assume that's a typo; It's Batman Returns that will be released second (May 6), and not Batman Forever being released twice!

If not, that would be very odd... embarrassment

It would make sense that a movie entitled FOREVER would take that long to watch.

Ian McShane seem to be damning the feature length Deadwood with faint praise:

"DEADWOOD---Ian McShane commented on the HBO movie, “DEADWOOD we just finished. I saw it the other day. Tim [Olyphant] and I had a few comments. I think it’s – yeah, it’s OK. Yeah, it’s good. I know he was very keen on making it it, I remember him speaking about it in a radio interview years ago. So far I've only seen season one & thought it was quite brilliant (I've never heard cocksucker said so many times in a TV program).

Ian McShane seem to be damning the feature length Deadwood with faint praise:

Faint praise indeed. Doesn't bode too well. Was a big fan of the show.

So it's a bit like TAKEN meets RAMBO?

THE TERROR: INFAMY---AMC released photos, including George Takei (STAR TREK), from Season 2 which follows an evil entity from a World War II Japanese-American internment camp to combat in the Pacific Theater. The premiere is August 12.

Excellent news! I was hoping they did another season of this.

...shame Rian didn't achieve that 1st time around!

I'll take a line on that!

I presume that would be galley, rather than gallery. Didn't know it was Ingrid's voice but as I now imagine that scene I can hear it.

I don't often comment on these posts, but thanks for all the hard work, dragon53 (if that IS your real name!)

Nor did JJ who did a soft remake of A New Hope. These filmmakers are clowns.

    Thanks, I fixed it.
Doing the trivia is hard because it's hard to find photos since Google changed its photo policy about a year ago.

So The Walking Dead keeps losing viewers, breaking its own records for "lowest ratings yet," and they keep making new series??? [shrug][\shrug]

SPOILER: Jerry scores a new theme for the end credits.

I'm just hoping for a return of First Blood the 13th: Jason Rambo. The last movie was like a horrorshow, and I dug it.

After what Rambo said he got when he got home from the war, maybe when he's back from his rescue mission, he gets the opposite: praise, maybe even a medal. Long time coming, finally arriving.
