I don't know if any of you do this, but the past few years, when a label announces a release, be it a premiere or an expanded release, I can NOT STOP whistling the music until my copy arrives in the mail, even though I've had the original releases for YEARS. It's actually quite annoying.
Do any of you "suffer" from this "phenomenon"?
Oh... and I'll site an example.... ever since LLL announced the new Superman set, I've been whistling the main title almost constantly, even when I'm trying to FALL ASLEEP!

I don't take to whistling, but I do get music stuck in my head from time to time. But if I'm planning to buy a new soundtrack, especially an expansion of one I already own, I purposely avoid those melodies like the plague to make them fresh when the new one arrives.

I've read that in the Navy, whistling is considered the second most aggravating offense after theft. Recently a new manager at work was whistling to himself a lot, so I emailed him that factoid. And he stopped doing it! It was a rare case in my life where I successfully modified another human's behavior.

good to know I am not alone. If there is a mention of a movie title especially one that John Williams has done, I will have the music in my head. Lately, it has been Alfred Newman's music. I even wake up in the middle of the night with music in my head.

I guess it is better than remembering some of the BS prevalent in the world. Actually, much better.

I've had the Love Theme from Cinema Paradiso stuck in my head for years, whistling it and all every single day. Even when listening to other music it's there. It's actually driving me insane.

I also avoid any expected expansions’ original soundtrack like the plague as well... I haven’t listened to Superman for 6 months awaiting Lala’s opus!

I do the exact same thing. Even worse, I avoid soundtracks for expansions that have already been released but that I haven't got around to purchasing yet. Two examples at the moment are Bram Stoker's Dracula and the Harry Potter set. I'm dying to listen to those but want the expansions - when I get them - to be as fresh and new as possible.

I do that as well, except last Saturday I "cheated" and listened to about the first 30 minutes of the Rhino Superman!

And when Cinema Paradiso was mentioned I thought, that theme gets stuck in my head all of the time too. But, funnily enough, I'm in the middle of listening to Nobody's Fool by Howard Shore and can't remember the theme for Cinema Paradiso to save my life. Strange how it's hard to recall a familiar piece of music when another is playing.

In a way. I hardly ever whistle but boy, do the themes from an upcoming release go on constant replay in my head.

Doesn't really happen to me (then again, I don't buy physical media anymore), but I often get 'earworms', of course, which I hum in the shower or wherever.
