I was introduced to this composer via a western on TV a few days ago (MGM Channel): "Gun the Man Down" directed by Andrew V McLaglen. It starred a pre-Gunsmoke James Arness and Angie Dickinson. A decent early 50s western, with music that attracted my attention well enough to check out the composer (who I was unfamiliar with) and his work online.
The movie listed him as Henry Vars, but he was known formerly (and since) by his real Polish name, Henryk Wars. The score was fully-orchestral with plenty of action and really quite good. I'd say MUCH better than the average of its type.
Anyway... my online check revealed he was the main man composing for the TV series, "Flipper", and led me to this album of his works, played by a jazz trio (I'd say of very high quality):

And that led me to two more recordings in the same series by the same Stankiewicz team, of jazz treatments of works by Bronislau KAPER and Victor YOUNG. I now see all three albums are on Spotify if anyone would like to check them out.

And here's Stankiewicz' jazz treatment of "Bram Stoker's Dracula" from another album dedicated to Kilar's works:

I'm very pleased to have found these fine jazz albums of music by film composers.
