Yeah... I had to look it up as well... he "co-won" an oscar with Morris Stoloff for "Cover Girl"(....yeah, I've never heard of it, either!).

Daryl Dragon AKA: Captain Keyboard.

I remember the married singing duo "The Captain and Tennille" from my high school and college days.

Rest In Peace Daryl. Love will keep us together.

One of their many hit songs:

Daryl was cool.
Actually, they both were. Not just for the nice tunes in general, but also because he was a sometime-Beach Boy and she sang on "The Wall".

RIP, Captain.

... And I don't want to hear anyone giving them crap about "Muskrat Love".
Blame America for that.

Whenever a good musician dies, the afterlife is enriched and we are the poorer. frown

He should have won for "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," in a perfect world without emotion.

Carmen Dragon also recorded a wonderful series of light classical music albums for Capitol with the Hollywood Bowl Symphony.

And credit Neil Sedaka for their biggest hit of all, if we're going to be assigning responsibility for their choices (good and bad) to other people. So what did they (The C&T) do for a living?

Absolutely! I still love that song after all these years.
In 1975 synths were still coming into their own in mainstream pop and I'm sure that aspect of it (not to mention Hal Blaine's drums) had something to do with how much I enjoyed it.
I think their version even trounces Sedaka's original.

I had one of their albums on LP. Might have been a "Greatest Hits" compilation. Really enjoyed the songs. Including the adorable Muskrat Love. razz
