This looks like a decent adaptation, even if it's just another remake. And win win - we have the Goldenthal, and now a new Young horror score as a companion piece. Win win there.
That is really great news. I'm really intrigued by this remake. I don't think the book is great, but it has a storyline that could have made it a true horror classic like Carrie (it has a similar tragic inevitability). The earlier film version was a botch -- even the Goldenthal score is distractingly derivative of Schifrin's Amityville -- so this will almost certainly be an improvement.
Very excited to hear this. Christopher Young did amazingly well on Hellraiser, Hellbound: Hellraiser II, The Core, Priest, The Monkey King, The Monkey King 2 and especially Drag Me to Hell. Cannot wait for 2019!
I believe Mr. Jack meant that he hoped Balfe doesn't replace Young at the last minute
I know that "to Balfe" has become a verb here, but has Lorne Balfe actually replaced anybody's score at the last minute? Maybe I'm just not remembering, but I can't think of it.

According to Wikipedia he replaced Christophe Beck on Terminator Genisys, Pinar Toprak on Geostorm, John Paesano on Pacific Rim Uprising. I don't know if it was at the last minute. Also all of these films would be terrible even without his involvement. And I think people can't forgive him, he was chosen for the Mission Impossible Fallout instead of Joe Kraemer.
