I also just finished watching season 3. I LOVE all of the so-called "fan service" (from all 3 seasons). If only all fan service was like this! I don't think any season is weaker than the others, but they all have things that I like and some things I find annoying. It's true that it's lost its freshness, so to speak, but then so does everything. I concede that there is a bit of repetitiveness going on, but even that is playing out in different ways. I must point out that this series is a clearly a "dramedy". In some ways, it reminds me of the TV show "Soap", which was a parody/spoof of soap operas. Cobra Kai also seems to doing the same, and the over-the-top moments are meant to be OTT. Case in point, the finale of season 2. It was like a live action version of Family Guy's balls-to-the-wall fights with "the chicken". Yet, it also has dramatic, heartfelt moments, much like Soap did, too. I still recall one episode of Soap in particular, that had a scene with Robert Guillaume and Katherine Helmond in a hospital, with Helmond's character apparently dying. Boy was that acting superb. I teared up. Likewise, SPOILERS: In season 3, Kumiko's reading aloud of Miyagi's letters, gave me a lump in my throat. Oh, and FWIW, I find that the actress that plays Kumiko looks better now than when she appeared in KK2. Richard G.
