Just wanted to send my condolences to Mr. Thaxton's family and friends. I always enjoyed his posts and even when engaged in disagreements with him about one thing or another, he was always respectful. He knew so much about SF films and scores!
Charles & I had many FB exchanges and I spoke with Charles a few times via the phone because we had a lot in common regarding the music we were inspired by and the music we composed. We were both electronic musicians who had extremely wistful thoughts about the loss of thumbing through new age placards in music stores (Music Plus, Sam Goody, etc) back in the day finding and appreciating artists like Exchange (composers of the soundtrack Prince Valiant...whom Charles represented on FB) and so many more. Charles was very spiritual and we connected through our love of Christ, New Age/space music (and of course, vintage synths). I know he was in a great deal of pain but is now free from it all, mostly likely exploring the universe and it's millions of planets (and aliens) in a spacecraft God has given him. See you soon enough, my friend!
Hey MMM thank you for that link. Really puts the music perspective on the man for those of us who only got know him via "taps on a keyboard." But over many years! I posted a pair of threads in tribute on the anniversary thread and something about one of those threads together with what you and others have posted...well, here we go again. Later.
I'm so sorry to hear of Charles' passing. I hope his family and friends find comfort in the wonderful memories and experiences they've shared with Charles over the years.
I'll remember Charles Thaxton's brilliant sense of humor in the long-running "Tell a Lie About the Person Above You (Be Nice)" thread. Charles was hilarious and I'll miss that.
I was thinking about our departed friend Charles today. He did this in 2014 and listening to it today gave me a badly needed mental timeout from current insanity:

Thank you, buddy.
You are much missed.
Funny, I was just thinking about him also when I was listening to The Invaders.
