The Zimmer score on this clip is boring. It's a great action sequence, but the music does nothing to enhance the scene. It doesn't even have a sense of urgency. There are Zimmer proteges that are better composers than him that I think would have done so much better on this. Imagine getting John Powell to score this.

Let's just hope the movie is good. If we actually ever get a chance to see it.

It's a great action sequence
First half ? I don't think so.. It's just 007 as Pedobear chasing teenager big grin wink
Second half is awesome, right.

"Imagine getting John Powell..."
--------------------
It's weird the way Powell vowed to not score any future movies with a violent or aggressive content.
I wonder what brought that mindset about?
Was it one film in particular he regretted, or a decision brought on by the tragic circumstances surrounding his wife?
Whatever the reason, he'd deliver a classic Bond score.

He is certainty capable of doing one. The question is, is that what Fukunaga was going for? I only know him from True Detectives and I can't even imagine a traditional Powell score in that series.

Looking at the trailer, maybe there are more fun sequences later on and that may open up opportunities later on. But who knows.

If anyone's interested, I did a "Mission Impossible 4/5 style" rescore of the No Time To Die Jimmy Fallon clip.

I'm a music composition noob so go easy on me hahaha

Rejected NO TIME TO DIE song demo by Mark Ronson and Ilsy Juber. A bit more up-beat than the emo Billie Eilish song, but remarkably similar. They must have had the same brief.

So what do you think?

NO RELEASE IN ANY FORM WHATSOEVER = NO SALE

Don't worry, you'll order a limited edition, 3 LP set of this score etched with dollar bills Hans Zimmer personally hand selected from his Scrooge McDuck sized vault when it's available.

BUT.... will there be liner notes?

Not the kind of liner notes you're expecting.

Billie Eilish recalls the insane way how "No Time To Die's" Bond theme song came together :

I wouldn't call this a 'rejected' NTTD song, because it was never solicited in the first place.

Every new film, people put their unsolicited songs on YouTube, and make play it's the 'rejected' song, but it isn't, it's just everybody having a go.

Cheers

No-one wants to apology for saying that's my predictions about so called instrumental track will turns to be another "background" music sans vocal are insane, that I don't know meaning of word "instrumental", that zimmer is genius, so this time we'll get something different from Another Way to Die/Skyfall/Writing on the Wall? wink

For what it's worth, it's now being reported that the streamers didn't meet MGM's asking price:

https://deadline.com/2020/10/james-bond-no-time-to-die-streamer-talks-died-quickly-1234602960/

A few more months of having to hold the film could change all that though.

As I understand it, the issue for the studios is the interest on the money they borrow to make many of these movies. As the months drag on, the interest becomes astronomical, because it was originally calculated with a release date in mind.

A soundtrack suite is out.

In my opinion it is a bit dull. The Zimmer sound of late, an uninspired version of the Bond theme and then the title song at the end.

Looking at the description and the comments, I don't think this is from the official score but rather a fan made track.
