Whoa, can we get an NSFW for this First Man DP?

This site is just rotten. Rotten.

I mean, it's a good enough score, but we have to draw lines somewhere, people.

Terrible film, with a very over rated score. In my opinion of course.

I'm truly surprised there isn't a special feature on the Blu-ray related to this brilliant score. Very disappointed. (And also disappointed the Dolby Atmos audio has a 40hz filter applied to it.)

This will make a good companion disc to George Kallis' Gagarin-First In Space.

I hope it is as good. First In Space is wonderful.[/endquote

Is this available on dvd?]

Finally saw the film last night. A downbeat slog that nonetheless pleased me because of the key NASA-related moments. Strange.

"The Landing" cue in the film is tremendous, with that big blast of brass and the huge statement of the theme coming at exactly the right moment (once again for Tom Cross, the editing is a highlight). I, too, noticed that Hurwitz' cue reminded me of the "The Gael."

Hurwitz was robbed ! The most deserved Oscar A.D. 2019.

I actually thought the score was doing too much in the "at home" sequences, especially toward the beginning. The pace of these home sequences is so slow that the faster tempo of Hurwitz's music was making me anxious. Hey, maybe that was the point, but it made me a little sick! Imagine how it felt to some 80-year-old music branch member!

"The Landing" sequence/cue alone should have been submitted, similar to (but not as perfect as) the "Married Life" sequence submission from Giacchino's Up.

I am sure his first two Oscars and the paycheque(s) + royalties will provide solace.

Agreed. Just recently picked this up and thought "the landing" was the standout track.

Have not seen the film yet.
