Old thread but I’d love Hoyt Curtain’s Super Friends music to be released. There’s this one piece of music that played whenever something significant was happening Sort of “action” theme. Sadly, I could list examples but I won’t for fear of looking too much like a nerd. (Too late!). This would be the height of nostalgia for me.
I also have a soft spot for the 70’s “Tarzan” music.
Like to see Spider-Man late 1960s Hallmark Filmation Fantastic Voyage from Hallmark Filmation the late 1960s Spider-Man the animated series from the 90s Shuki Levy X-Men the animated series from the 90s Shuki Levy
Unfortunately in hands of companies and people that are notorious and hard to get anything from. I once contacted Shuki Levy’s agent, trying to find out if that his music whatever be released. His response was please attend one of his concerts in Israel. Hallmark gleefully destroyed all the Star Trek, the animated series music. It was only because of LaLaLand’s noble efforts to restore it that we have it.
DuckTales. Between Ron Jones and Chase/Rucker, you're looking at five discs' worth of incredible action/adventure cues.
I bring up DuckTales a lot (it IS my No. 1 Holy Grail after all), but I rewatched Treasure of the Golden Suns the other day, after a long time away from it, and was still blown away by the score.
Very much seconded. I would love to grab on to some DuckTales.
And I'll also second another user for "The Real Ghostbusters".
We got Battle of the Planets (AKA: Gatchaman) which includes both the original Japanese music and the American music. Amazingly Hoyt's music fits in organically with the original score too. And its a two disc set to boot!
The Tele 80 label recently posted that they plan to keep releasing things for the next couple of years. Hopefully they will have some surprises.
MV has expressed interest in Transformers and G.I. Joe - not sure if they will happen but I hope so. MV recently posted a picture of his dinner with a Cobra Commander figure. But that doesn't really mean anything....right?
Some interesting things have been shared by fans over the past couple of years.
The North American score to Sailor Moon - a CD was found, and some additional score pieces which I am thrilled about and are in the Internet Archive.
Also composer Kevin Manthei has been posting full scores to his Invader Zim on Youtube as well.
There are some other animated gems lurking in that archive as well that you may want to check out. I won't say more about those but if you're curious you can always reach me by email.
