I'm listen the score and by far, one of the best by Tom

Beautiful choir, heavy action and themes (that Terminator-esque theme for Shrike with that emotional spin or Hester's theme and his variations in Shan Guo, is gorgeous)

Amazing the spectacular images they can put on film today without making me care one little bit.

Truer words have never been said!

we are fully in the era when crappy, but expensive visual effects are entirely accepted as 'awesome' I am sorry to say. This film and Aquaman look like bad video games bathed in either brown tints, in the case of ME, or blue tints.

I saw the film today, and while the effects are nicely done, the characters can be interchanged with something like "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets." It was hard to hear the score over the general din of the goings-on. But the love theme was a highlight, and the end credits conclude with a great march.

Snyder is not in this list
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_film_auteurs

Nor is every auteur since the dawn of time. Google 'Snyder' and 'auteur', you'll see that many have found pleasure in analyzing his trademarks in recent years. And I agree -- love him or hate him, he's one of the most iconic and most recognizable directors of his generation, using the full mayhem of contemporary Hollywood FX towards his unique vision.

You were right, Phelpsie!

I could possibly forgive less than stellar effects if the presentation was otherwise engaging. But its not. And don't get me started on color saturation and all that stuff!

OK, true. But for films like these, I tend to blame the director and/or the pressure of the 'finance' guys. No doubt Peter Jackson has SOME blame, but he's not the biggest culprit here.

I think Thor is getting ready to concede.

Ouch. Seems to be the consensus.
