...but you have to have some stupid phone app. It will play on smart TVs, smart Blu-ray players, current generation video game consoles, set-top streaming boxes and sticks from Amazon/Apple/Roku/etc. And yes, tablets and phones too. Basically, if you have the capacity to watch Netflix, you have the capacity to watch Movies Anywhere. And if your TV and sound system (and Internet connection) can handle it, it will be in HD with excellent sound quality. I saw this. I also already have (and dearly love) Movies Anywhere. Does that mean I'm out of luck since I can't sign up for it again?

I saw this. I also already have (and dearly love) Movies Anywhere. Does that mean I'm out of luck since I can't sign up for it again? Nope - buy the movie digitally or redeem the digital copy from the Blu-ray and the isolated score is yours Oh good. I have to wait until the blu ray is out. I love the convenience of digital copies but I don't trust them by themselves. Say what you want about Johnson (and people certainly have) but the man is a nerd, through and through. I'm slightly surprised Williams signed off on this. I gathered he was not terribly well disposed to isolated scores. (It cracks me up that this is being marketed like it's never been done.) I know we have Superman and 1941. Anything else?

It's crazy that so many people, even on this board, don't know how an isolated score works! This technology is not new, friends.

Yes, Shaun. But for the uninitiated… DVDs, Blu-Rays, UHDs, and downloaded films often have the option of multiple soundtracks. These can include the film in various languages, myriad surround codings, commentaries from filmmakers or critics, and yes, the music tracks isolated. Typically (but not always), the music is edited as it was for the film. Sometimes (but not always), the music dips as it does in the film. Really, these alternate audio tracks can include anything. For silent films, it's not uncommon that there may be several scores, and you can pick the one you like. The "Galaxy Quest" DVD has an entire audio track in the gibberish language of the Thermian aliens seen in the film.

We're already talking about the isolated score in the existing TLJ thread http://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=116394&forumID=1 It won't be ON the blu ray, but the blu ray comes with a digital copy of the film that if you activate, you can choose to link to a Movies Anywhere account, and then stream the isolated score track with the film.

I really appreciated the small handful of Danny Elfman isolated scores that included composer commentary in the moments of score-silence. I believe that Edward Scissorhands, Planet of the Apes, and The Family Man were that way. I haven't heard any of Elfman's. But Randy Newman did that for Pleasantville. That is a fairly down to earth person.

It's crazy that so many people, even on this board, don't know how an isolated score works! This technology is not new, friends. This technology is very new, I've never heard of a release like this, where the isolated score is not on the DVD or Blu-Ray, but is on a separate digital copy.
