TUESDAY, MARCH 6

LOST IN SPACE---official trailer released for the Netflix remake of the 1960s sci fi series.

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzmM0AB60QQ

TERMINATOR 6---Arnold Schwarzenegger said the sequel to THE TERMINATOR starts filming in June, “We are starting to shoot Terminator 6 in June to the middle of October, so I am in that. I am looking forward to coming back as the T-800 model. It’s gonna be great with Tim Miller as the director and Jim Cameron is kind of supervising the whole thing.” Linda Hamilton is co-starring.

GREEN LANTERN CORPS---Christopher McQuarrie (MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE-ROGUE NATION) is in talks to direct the Warner Bros./DC Comics movie. This led to continued speculation that Tom Cruise is the studio's top candidate to star in the movie as Cruise and McQuarrie have a history of working together.
Also, Cruise's TOP GUN: MAVERICK sequel starts filming in July.

THE EPOCH INDEX---20th Century Fox movie underway based on the novella about a disgraced female CIA analyst who seeks redemption by tracking down an assassin who leaves three-digit numbers carved in the flesh of the targets. Brad Peyton (SAN ANDREAS) is the director. Matt Reeves (DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES) is the producer. Justin Rhodes (TERMINATOR 6) is the writer.

GALAXINA---Mark A. Altman (THE LIBRARIANS) is developing a tv series based on the 1980 android-in-space movie that starred former PLAYBOY Playmate of the Year Dorothy Stratten and Stephen Macht.

HARROW'S ALLEY---Emma Thompson is writing the script for this HBO horror movie based on a 1960s project written by Walter Newman (CAT BALLOU) for George C. Scott which was never made. The plot involves two men trying to survive the black plague in an English town in the 17th century.

FAST & FURIOUS---Rob Cohen, who directed the original movie, wants to return for the last sequel, “I always wished Universal would come back to me to direct the last one… The franchise went from a Los Angeles story built around a family of multicultural brothers and sisters to what I’ll call ‘pure spectacle.’ The beauty is that the audience has ridden along with it for these 18 years.
I’m very proud that the characters I created in 2001 are still in the lexicon...when you go on the internet and [read] ‘Which was the best Fast & Furious?’ It’s almost always mine.”

THE SHAPE OF WATER---XenoArtifacts, a company which makes a dildo inspired by the movie's Fish-Man, sold out its inventory after the movie won the Academy Award for Best Picture. The company's owner, a woman named Ere, said, “Our sales have gone through the roof! All SHAPE OF WATER toys sold out as soon as I posted them… in less than 20 minutes!”
To show her appreciation, Ere is sending gifts to Guillermo del Toro and actor Doug Jones, “No, not a fish d*ck, but a coaster set and maybe a teeny gold replica.”

LOVECRAFT COUNTRY---HBO horror series underway about three black people who journey across the US in the 1950s and encounter racism and horrific monsters. Yann Demange (WHITE BOY RICK) is the director.

ACADEMY AWARDS---the 90th Academy Awards drew a dismal all-time low of 26.5 million viewers. The 89th Academy Awards drew 32.9 million which was a nine-year low.

HIDING IN TIME---tv series underway based on the comic book about a Witness Protection Program in which witnesses are protected by sending them to different points in time, until someone begins to track them in time and murder them.

TRIVIA---veteran character actor Woodrow Parfrey appeared in many movies and tv shows. He was a favorite of directors Clint Eastwood and Franklin J. Schaffner and appeared in their movies including DIRTY HARRY, THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES, BRONCO BILLY, PLANET OF THE APES, PAPILLON, THE WAR LORD and THE FLIM-FLAM MAN.

Parfrey appeared in several Clint Eastwood movies, most notably DIRTY HARRY.

Parfrey played Maximus in Franklin J. Schaffner's PLANET OF THE APES. Parfrey (left), James Whitmore (middle) and James Daley (right) in the see-no-evil/hear-no-evil/speak-no-evil trial scene.

I suspect that much of the USA is weary of Hollywood's elitist virtue signalling and hypocrisy.

Well I admit this looks like fun. Having Will find an Alien A.I. is pretty cool. But it's not LIS!
Edit: The A.I. robot looks just like the baddies in Bluth's "Titan AE."

GALAXINA---Mark A. Altman (THE LIBRARIANS) is developing a tv series based on the 1980 android-in-space movie that starred former PLAYBOY Playmate of the Year Dorothy Stratten and Stephen Macht.

The model/actress was viciously murdered. Do you really need to bring this back? frown

Grandpa Terminator. There hasn't been a successful sequel since the second film. Let it go!!!!

Ahhh ... WHY?

I'm still holding out hope for it, since Cameron is involved and he's ignoring everything after T2 and Arnold is back. Now, if only they can get Fiedel back.

I hope it's the final one, though. I've had enough of the Terminator universe and I'm tired of Arnold with some of the stone cold stupid shit he's said in the last few years. I almost don't want to see him at all.

She's still attempting to get this made? Good for her - hope that this incarnation will finally be the one. Previous attempts (including one with Mel Gibson attached) crashed and burned.

Cruise as who...Hal Jordan? Meh. Isn't he a little old for that role?

Green Lantern Corps could be great fun in the right hands. McQuarrie is capable but DC films are terrible. I used to love Green Lantern comics 25 years ago. Cruise as Jordan would be okay with the greeting temples. A younger Bruce Greenwood wiuld have been ideal.

Come on... the only thing people care about in this new Lost In Space show is....

A. is the Jupiter 2 still a flying saucer?

B. does it make THAT sound?

Or maybe it's just me smile

I liked it.
I don't know if that means anything, though, because I loved the movie, too.
I think it might be just because I love the concept to begin with.
That and the J2.

Is Terminator 6 just a working title? I'm all for ditching the continuity after T2 (or at least going an alternate-timeline route), but if they call this new one T6 it will just confuse things even more. I get they can't call it Terminator 3, since we already had one of those, but why not a single word title like the last two?

Maybe. But the damn ceremony stops dead when it turns into a second-rate variety show about two thirds of the way through, dragging the overall length up to about four hours. Snooze....

Shirley "Give Her the Shaaaaaaaaahhhhtt!" MacLaine had that great line during her Best Actress speech in which she said something like "This ceremony has been as long as my career." Nothing new for Hollywood (and its distended celebration of itself).

The elitist virtue signalling is the least of it's problems. The awards are so random, uncontrolled, clueless, money influenced, over long, unfunny, and boring. In other words it's all BS. Most of all who cares if millionaires pat themselves on the back? I haven't watched the awards in 25.

The Oscars, Grammys, the NFL...ratings are all down significantly this year. Gee, I wonder why?

No, we've endured bloated productions, awkwardly scripted "banter", long, dull games, and crass commercialism from those entities before, but never has their virtue signalling been so blatantly sickening as it is now.

You really think NFL ratings are down because some dude was kneeling during the national anthem? You know NASCAR ratings have been in a steady decline for over a decade? You can't get anymore, we love America, God, and Troops than that. The stuff you speak of have always been a part of the Oscars. Probably a huge part of the decline in ratings (across the board) are people dropping cable/TV like crazy.

No. I think ratings are down because audiences are tired of being flogged with politics no matter what those politics may be.

I dropped cable over six years ago. That's over $4,000 saved.

They really cannot let The Terminator drop dead.

And James Cameron, talented guy, but he spent the last 20 year redoing things he already did, and he has the next 10 years planned redoing the things he redid the last 20 years.

Sounds like Jimmy Cameron is no different from Hollywood itself!
