No pun intended but ... HALLELUJAH!! I had almost given up hope of seeing any more released output from Mr Kaczmarek. Haven't loved all of his later offerings but he's one I always looked forward to.
I had high hopes for this, given Kaczmarek's track record, and the subject matter. Alas, I found it to be a big disappointment. Lots of noodling, repetitive figures that really bear no trace of the Kaczmarek I know and like.
About what I expected for a score in this genre, these days. There are a few moments when it is effective in the film, but they are fleeting. Otherwise, it's a soundscape. The film is a tad better. At least it covers an aspect of the Christian story not often explored, and manages a fairly emotional ending.
