THE WALKING DEAD---ratings continue to slide as Season 8's midseason premiere was the lowest midseason premiere ever with a 3.6 rating (adults 18-49) and 8.3 million viewers. The slide began in Season 7 when Negan killed Abraham and Glenn.

MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.---co-writer Jed Whedon said Season 5 might be the last season, “Yeah, we’re ready for if this is the end. We’re definitely going to make it rewarding either way. We can certainly pivot and there are certain things that we’re putting in that at the last minute could be adjusted, but we know at the end we’re not moving off that mark. We’re going to do what we were planning to do, and I think that it’ll be thrilling either way.”

ASH VS EVIL DEAD---Bruce Campbell said if Season 3 is the last season, he might continue with an Evil Dead movie, “We’re in the horrible television limbo right now. We’re going to see what the TV gods have in store for us. We’re ready either way. If they take us off the air, we can think about another movie. And if they don’t, we can just keep plugging away.”

FROZEN 2---director Jennifer Lee commented on fan campaigns to have Elsa with a lesbian lover in the sequel, “I love everything people are saying [and] people are thinking about with our film ? that it’s creating dialogue, that Elsa is this wonderful character that speaks to so many people. It means the world to us that we’re part of these conversations. Where we’re going with it, we have tons of conversations about it, and we’re really conscientious about these things."

OVERWATCH---movie underway based on the novel series about an ex-Marine who investigates a mysterious organization that is seeking an Iraqi artifact that could lead to a war between the US and Iran.

NAKED IS THE BEST DISGUISE---movie underway based on the sci fi novel set in the future where memories can be transplanted between people. An illegal memory dealer is charged with murdering a man she doesn't know.

THE THIRST---Boyd Holbrook (LOGAN, THE PREDATOR) is in negotiations to star ion this movie in which water is a very rare commodity.

SUNDAYS WITH ALEC BALDWIN---new ABC talk show with host Alec Baldwin will premiere on March 4. Jerry Seinfeld will be among the first guests.

ANIMAL KINGDOM---Denis Leary will have a recurring role in Season 3.

THE ROCKETEER---Disney Junior children's tv show based on the comic book and movie with a young girl discovering she is next in line to be the new Rocketeer.

TRIVIA---the 1975 comedy heist movie WHIFFS starred Elliott Gould and Jennifer O'Neill. The plot involves a former Army guinea pig for chemical warfare tests who wants to use the test chemical to incapacitate a small town and then rob the local bank.
WHIFFS was a box office bomb, but it's sole bright spot was the theme song, "Now That We're in Love", which was nominated for an Academy Award. It was written by George Barrie, the movie's producer, who was head of Faberge. Barrie created Faberge's highly successful Brut cologne and was an early pioneer of celebrity endorsements with Farrah Fawcett, Joe Namath, Roger Moore, Margaux Hemingway and others promoting Faberge products.

THE ROCKETEER---Disney Junior children's tv show based on the comic book and movie with a young girl discovering she is next in line to be the new Rocketeer.

What happened to the live action sequel, where some black women became the new Rocketeer in search of Cliff Secord who's mysteriously disappeared? Not that I was looking forward to that set up. Now they're gonna turn it into a preteen power princess series? All they got is a title, with no real interest in the original property.

Yeah. And "next is line"? Is that dragon53's wording or Disney's? 'cause if it's Mr. Mouse's, up their noses with rubber hoses. There is no line; are they turning this into a superhero thing? That would be lame.

A fundamental misunderstanding of what the original film did.

JUSTIN BOGGAN:

The original article says, "The new take follows Kit, a young girl who receives a surprise package on her birthday revealing she’s next in line to become the Rocketeer."

1975's WHIFFS. That's randomness, for you.
