Well, I guess I love Ilia's Theme so much I wanted more development of it *as* Ilia's Theme. It's gorgeous. But the film didn't really develop her character much so Jerry didn't get to develop her character theme all that much, I guess.
The one point I would disagree on is that Ilia's theme in STTMP is underdeveloped. As Goldsmith used a darker version of Ilia's theme for V'ger I'd say it was very cleverly developed.
Heh. Yeah, differentiating between Vejur's, Spock's, and Ilia's themes can be daunting sometimes. Especially in the last act. (Now I gotta go listen to the last act again.)
I was thinking the other day on the "completeness" of the 3 CD TMP set: Do I really need FOUR recordings of Ilia's theme? My answer was "YES!"
