Nice to see additional composers getting credit on the cover again...

Wonderful! Nice to hope that a petition actually made a difference. Personally I loved this score so looking forward to this version.

So anyone heard the new album? I’m really happy that it’s out there and people can make up their own minds about it but...pretty disappointed on a first listen.
I guess by the nature of it ( musical experiments) it was always going going to be a bit wandering but there’s nothing that really grabbed me about it and it just kinda plodded along for me. I was hoping for something better as I really liked the soundtrack but this doesn’t really do it for me.
Maybe on a few more listens. Anyone else have any thoughts?

I thoroughly enjoyed it for what it is... experiments, unused scenes, and theme exploration. Too rarely do we get a glimpse into the process of film scoring, so it's a fascinating experience to hear this. It's obviously not for everyone, and I would really only recommend it to HZ fans or fans of the Dark Phoenix score. I think it's a wonderful companion to the OST.

Haven’t seen the film but really digging both albums. Can do without the weird studio backdrop noise that closes out most tracks though.

Finally got to listen to this....so thankful this all got released. Anyone got any leads onto what each track name is referencing? I think a few are fairly obvious, but the others, not so much... The last song sounds like the end credits of the film, at least the beginning of the end credits...

"Coda" is the finale cue, but not the end credits. I've only seen the film once, but the end credits are really beautiful. I wish they were on the album. I have no idea if they're included in the second disc, I only have the digital release thus far.

The cue titles are totally unhelpful in placing them in the film, but some were very memorable and nice and loud in the film itself.

I'm so sorry Scott for being so confusing...I was wondering what the titles for the Xperiments were....You're right, Coda definitely wasn't the end credits...

Like, I think X-HZT could be like "Hans Zimmer Theme" or X-X could be "Xman Theme" cuz it's the main theme from the beginning...

So far, here are the best guesses:

X-X = X-Men Theme
X-MT = Magneto’s Theme
X-SS = Space Scene (original cue from the beginning which was replaced and used as the end credits)

Waited until the additional music was released before getting any of it - very tough.

Love it.

I'm really loving the X-PERIMENTS FROM DARK PHOENIX "inspired by" album, which is ten times better than the disappointing score album (which only had, like, 2 or 3 good tracks). Beautiful embelishments and improvements on the material that didn't do very much on the score album. Far more focussed (I completely disagree with spook earlier, who said it was 'plodding'....I think it's the complete opposite). More like a concept album, really.

I agree. Been playing X-periments quite frequently since it came out. A much better listen than the score album, although I have to say I don’t dislike the score album, just that X-periments is a fun listen. Glad HZ managed to get it released eventually.
